Ok I need a new pair of pants... Let me set the scene.... I was on a ride with the family, heading back from the ship Inn... Travelling at about 55mph through a national speed limmit and heading to a corner (didn't know the road so went in nice and gentle.... At least that's what I thought) Well to cut a long story short, the corner tightened rapidly and I found myself doing off roading on the grass verge after having failed to get the bike leant over, gently on the back break, took a tree branch down (which fuddy hurt) somehow stayed on the bike and recovered... Stopped and checked the bike and no damage done...... Just my pride and pants..... Never have I thought S*…

Thought I'd go for a little ride out today - grea fun, twisty roads, loads of flies on my visor etc..... Turned down a road is not used before to discover a ford. It was shallow about 5 or 6" deep so I thought why not! Soon realised the answer should have been turn around - slowly in first gear, entered the water and then noticed all the slime and algae on the road. I've always fancied off roading and the like but going sideways on an SR is perhaps not the most sensible thing I've ever tried! I don't mind admitting I shat myself. Twice!

On my home from work yesterday and I got took out. As I was exiting a roundabout some idiot has nudged into the back of my bike and knocked me down. I've then slid up the road (dual carriageway) into the kerb and then into the central reservation. The POS has hit and run. Meanwhile Im trapped under my bike in shock and dazed and every one just drives past bare in mind this is rush hour. Anyway I got the bike off me and got to my feet and slumped over the central reservation. Eventually a guy stopped and asked if I was ok etc.I asked him to pick my bike up as my hand and knee were totalled. So my knee is out of it. The muscle is exposed and the palm of my hand is rea…

I own a 2012 ybr 125, I can't get it on it's centre stand I have tried and failed several times. I was wondering if it was possible to get a paddock stand to fit the rear off the bike, to make life easier when it comes to wheel cleaning and oiling my chain and other tasks.

Good day Yamahaclub members. I have been forced to come out of retirement just one more time.....to deal with another Internet storyteller. This person goes under the username of JMW. Just take a look at some of his posts from the last month or so: Anyone got something like an old Motad pipe or similar for a shaft drive XJ650 ?? Wanting NS400 parts. I really couldn't take full advantage on the road of a 2001 model R1. Hey NT - being a former ZXR owner, are you up with any tuning or general info on the bike. I'm doing one at the moment, need some guidance as everything looks pretty much spot on with the head and valves. Hmm, serious complaints from the r…

I ride to and from work on my bike everyday. My only problem (other than cars who are stuck in traffic not moving anywhere who block up the gaps so i can't filter through)....is my fingers and damn near falling off by the time i get to work or home. I'm on my bike for about 45mins, most of the journey is at 40-50mph and the rest is filtering through traffic. i wear a pair of those wind proof/thermal gloves and a pair of thicker waterproof gortex type gloves. I also have hand guards on the handle bars. I almost pray to come to a stop and traffic lights so that i can warm my fingers on the exhaust manifold!! what am i doing wrong? is it just me or is bloody free…

Invisasbility cloaks really do exist. After riding on the roads for well yesterday afternoon after the CBT I have decided that I have become invisible. I thought people couldnt see silver cars but riding a bike at night ? God dam open your eyes people. Is this just me or is this just one of the joys of motorbikes?

Right been looking at things and I have now decided that I intend to have the licence fingers crossed for the easter bank holiday weekend. Theory test is now booked and I will be provionally booking the lessons tomorrow. The dates for the practical can then be confirmed upon passing the theory. Next thing is what first bike after completion of the test? I assume insurance will play a big part but going to be looking at the 600cc market. I am 26 with a clean driving licence and full no claims on the car. Any thoughts on what is suitable. I would prefer a sports style bike. Something with a compromise on speed and insurance but also that I wil…

Hi people! On a whim I bought an FZ400RL from a friend a few(!) years back. At the time it was a bit silly coz I didn't even have my full bike licence. Anyhoo, got that in 2002, but due to life's unexpected twists and turns it never got on the road. Though out of boredom I did strip it down, spray and rebuild it, replacing a fork as necessary in the meantime. Now I've managed to dig it out of it's corner in the garage and spend some time on it. It's fully ready for it's MOT and looking less shabby than it did. But it keeps cutting out. Starts - no problem, sounds good. Ticks over quite happily. Goes out riding nicely. BUT after about ½-¾ mile, just when s…
