I'm renovating a DT125R and had to replace the rear wheel. Now I have done that I CANNOT GET ANY PRESSURE FROM THE REAR BRAKE AND THE BRAKE DOES NOT OPERATE. The rear brake caliper is fixed to the wheel spindle, so when I removed the wheel I (probably incorrectly), I disconnected the rear brake cable from the caliper so that the caliper could be removed connected to the wheel spindle. I have now read that I have made some errors in the way I removed the wheel and in particular the rear brake caliper. The rear brake cable that I disconnected from the caliper has obviously leaked some brake fluid whilst the wheel was replaced. Now I have replaced the wheel/caliper…

Hello Guys It's been a while since I've been on here and I hope you are all well. I'm hoping you can help me on this one because I'm stumped. Bled my rear brake and put new pads in on my MT09, made sure there is no air in the system and pads are seated correctly. As soon as I bolt calliper back on to mount I loose pressure (rear brake doesn't work) but when I unbolt calliper and just rest it on the disc it works perfectly. I've checked for leaks but can't see anything and the piston and piston seal are fine. Any help will be much appreciated.

Great little run today on the XT! Temperatures have dropped dramatically down to the mid 20's....so it's warm off the bike and cool on it. Unlike July and August when it was regularly 40 and above, and riding just wasn't an option. I went up the Sierra de Segura mountains on the Santiago road again....where you have 25 miles of hairpin bends on narrow roads, with road surfaces so bad it looks like they've been hit by Allied bombers in places! This is not a road for self-professed internet riding gods! This is real life and you're playing for keeps. :lg: You don't get a smooth racetrack surface with good visibility....in fact on some bends, vision is red…

Folks a couple of questions ive just done a small service on my xj900f (94) oil first with new filter, the old oil smelled kinda like petrol, could this be because the bike was running rich?and the excess fuel getting in through the bores new air filter next was new plugs changed out with type recomended in the haynes with a 0.70 gap as recomended(the old plugs had gaps ranging from 0.25 to 0.35 and were pretty much carboned up) however the bike ran with these plugs on trying to start her up the starter motor turns over fine and the engine is turning over but no spark and a strong smell of fuel obviously flooding, should i reduce the gap to say 0.50 or can anyone see…

Hi all, I'm new to the forum. And to yamahas. And to bikes! I got myself a yam virago 125 non starter to do as a project and hopefully ride. I've got some experience with older cars so taking on a project didn't seem a biggie.. BUT The virago won't start, though it did briefly a few times yesterday. I'm getting fuel into the cylinders as there's petrol smell on the exhaust and I managed to flood a few times. I checked for spark and thats ok front and back, it's had fresh petrol and oil (it may have been left for as much as 5 years unused) It's got a new battery, some wiring has been repaired or replaced and seems to check out. The starter does its thin…

I'm asking advice on: *where do i get a workshop manual from? *how do I replace snapped off mirrors *best fixes for massive dents on the nice curvy petrol tank *ive got a 15-20mm hole in the exhaust what's best to bang in there? *if I put after market slip on mufflers (12" cafe style shorties) will I need to Danny about with the fuel air mix. …

firstly i's like to say hello, my names chris and i have a yam XT600e 2003,ive had this bike for nearly 3 yrs and its a 100% trustworthy this bike with no break downs whatsoever. so when a couple of mates said they were planning a trip to spain to watch the moto gp i jumped at the chace for a bike trip away and it didn't disappoint! only one hiccup which is why I'm here now to ask for advice/pointed in the right direction. We were riding the motorway in spain to velencia and during this i heard a loud crack....i knew it was stone but never knew where it hit till we arrived at the villa....it hit my head lamp .....determined that it wouldn't put a damper on …
