Hi Everyone! I've just joined the club and have a couple of questions and would be grateful for your comments. I am about to buy a XJR 1300, hopefully the SP model in the livery last available in 2000. It will have to be the blue one! I am waiting for the right bike to turn up on ebay but am not really sure of the value of that model of XJR. If anyone could enlighten me I would be grateful - what should I be prepared to pay for an A1 example?. Also, I'm going for the XJR 1300 because it is the very epitome of my idea of a retro bike - the only sort of bikes I have ridden past and present. I am, of course, 'born again'. Any other interesting/useful info o…

Hi folks! In my last post I mentioned I was looking for a new project. Well, just paid the deposit on my new baby! I've bought a Honda VFR400 NC30. Its got a full Tyga fairing kit, seat unit etc. Been sitting for a while but runs, so hopefully a good service, clean fuel & degunked carbs should sort that. Paintwork isn't to my liking so that'll be getting redone too, but that's the fun of a project - stamping your own personality on it. Can't wait to get it home, probably be the weekend at the earliest but I'm so pleased!

Hey hey, the mid life crisis arrived today, A tidy 88 TDR250 pretty much stock (i think). I had a quick blat on it round the village (8-10miles ahem i did mean the OUTside) and its nutts. Bimble bimble ok thats kind of what you expect from a little stroker lets see what she goes like bit more gas ar her we go six thousaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Its like a switch is turned and its off like the back wheel has caught fire, just as much smoke too. Its got a lot more in it than i remember from my old elsie. Anyway whan the rain stops i'll get some pics sorted.

Ok so I reshod my steed yesterday with some Dunlops (207RR's). My mate rang me at work in the afternoon he'd heard there was a good band playing at a pub we sometimes go to so we made arrangements and of we went for the evening. Band was good had some diet cokes, time to leave. Get into the carpark 5 bikes in a row all with flat back tyres. Some git slashed them. I was NOT impressed and neither was my bloke as he had to bring his tranny van over to pick us up! So today I put on another new back tyre...

  15. Hi all.hopefully this is posted in the right section. How about this then as follows I had 2 new maxi diamond supermax tyres put on bike last week by a local dealer/shop and been using the bike up until now and I thought to my self as I have all the tools for the job I would check my balance on both wheels only to find the front was well out and the rear was not even balanced at all and above all the front wheel was not even tight as I could undo the pinch bolt near the front folks with my fingers how scary is that.as all well and good now and sorted but just a note to say check this your self as well as you never know. I suppose I was a lucky one this never came to an ac…

Hi All, Just bought a 1988 TZR 125 today! being dropped off tomorrow. It's my first bike, so I thought i'd get something cheap to learn on for a year or so. Ive got a question! apparently it's got a manual power valve. The valve is closed at the moment as the bike has had a rebuild and is being run in - what does this mean exactly? I'm new to 2 strokes as i've always had cars. When i've run the bike in, what can i expect perfomrance wise if i open the power valve? The bike also has a stainless exhaust. Cheers, Paul.

  17. Hi, I just joined the forum. I ride out from East London and I am exploring as much as I can. I passed my test last summer and I bought my first bike back in Sept '16, a lovely blue Tracer 700 and I have done 3k+ miles and I am loving it. As the bike I bought is a new model I set-up an owner's page and group on Facebook specifically for the Tracer 700. So if you have one yourself please feel free to join us... We plan on arranging a meet up later this summer, most likely in/around Brighton. Page https://www.facebook.com/Tracer700UK/ Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/Tracer700UK/
