Hi all, had my R1 for a year now and it's due a MOT and want to get her serviced at the same time, so can anyone recommend a good garage to get it done. Reason for asking is that I took my Thundercat to a place in Plymouth end of last year for a major service and it's not run the same since they had it. I've even had to go back there twice because it was missing and kept on dying at the lights.

Discovered last week that my exhaust had developed a slight leak at one of the small pipes on the bottom right. Attempted to seal it with Radweld which was a glorious failure. It really needs brazing but finding and then getting the work done by a radiator repairer would cost money including the cost of getting the radiator to the shop and it's return. Other options considered included a second hand radiator from ebay or a breaker but the same problem remains. These radiators are about 8 - 10 years old and may be in no better nick than the one I already have so possibly a pointless exercise. Another option is a new pattern radiator which comes in at about £120 and would b…

This past few years I have noticed an increasing number of quads on the road in my city. It feels like there's a quad epidemic. It's getting ridiculous, they are noisy as fook and they ride around in gangs. Ive just seen four of them paying no attention to the traffic and using the wrong lanes.

Does anyone know if it's possible to have a reverse gear put on a Royal Star Venture, and if so do you know where it can be purchased. Needed due to accident, would prefer to have it converted than go for a Goldwing or BMW. Preferably in Canada or the USA. Thanks

Hi Guys Just purchased a Black Yamaha WR125X, and I have to say I love this motorbike except for one thing: the plastic panels. They scratch very easily . Does anyone know of a good polish or wax that will get rid of these scratches and give a nice shiny finish? any help would be much appreciated.

So, the Divvy will need a new rear tyre soon. I do a lot of motorway riding usually with a lot of gear. Currently got Battlax on the rear and was wondering if there's a tyre out there which is less prone to getting squared off whilst still being a good all rounder? I've no problem with getting the bike over on the corners, just that there aren't that many corners on my regular rides. I didn't have the bike when the rear tyre was new so I may just go for the same and see how I get on but was wondering what you folks thought. Any input appreciated...

Hi I'm new to this forum, so firstly hello! Does anyone work for Yamaha or know one who can run a VIN check for me? I need to obtain a file/PDF or something with details of the bike (VIN/engine number) from a reputable source. Yahama UK are so slow and hardly respond to my emails and my local dealer is a grumpy bugger!. It's a racebike (R6) and it was never registered. Beer tokens can be provided. Thanks Rich

Hi all! Years ago I acquired a DT175 that had a seized clutch. The engine number is 559-005931 and the engine number matches. I've done a search of the forum and found this link for the US model identification. It's coming up as a 1976 DT175C on that site, but according to my notes from at least a decade ago it's a 1977 DT175 C. If I remember right I got that information from someone at the local Yamaha shop. Does anyone know if that VIN is from 1976 or 1977? Is there much difference between the '76 and '77 models? I plan on starting a project thread as this bike is now a basket case and I have my work cut out for me... but I'm quite looking forward really. Thanks i…

I have just been pulled by three coppers for looking over my soldier whilst changing lanes. Apparently by doing this you are acting suspiciously. It was only this afternoon me and my friend was having a conversation about how inept the police are. Yesterday my friend witnessed some youths burgling a garden shed and stealing a lawnmower and a strimmer. Throughout the incident my friend phoned the police and told them, but not surprisingly to me, the youths got away with it. Anyway I got pulled for looking over my shoulder. Once I explained myself the copper realised he was wrong so started been aggressive. He then tried saying I was looking at him, so then I told the…
