hey fellas, just a quick one (not STRICTLY motorcycle related, but its close enough) when you are signalled to pull over by a police officer in a vehicle, how should you go about stopping? should you pull over onto double yellows or go a little further to where theres a more appropriate spot? i only ask because its a criminal offence not to stop, and also a criminal offence to stop where its not legal (such as on double yellows) thanks

I noticed that most of the bolt heads were 10mm but 1 was 11mm they were all sorts of diferent lengths 1 was barley long enough to gain purchace on to the actuall cylinder.. so im wondering what bolts should i get for it. il probably get them from yambits if they have them. but i need to know which.

Help please! I'm not sure what is going to be best to start with. I know I will need a new gasket, but after that I don't know why else I may need. Basically the clutch is slipping through all the gears, even 1st and 2nd, suddenly 'kicking in' as if the gear wasn't quite engaging. I've looked on eBay and there seems to be several different options - clutch plate kit ranging through to complete assembly. Can anyone tell me what is going to be best for a relative novice mechanic (previous experience on lawn mowers only) to try first? Other than a garage that is!! Cheers, Andrew

Advice please went through a lot of woodland today and into swarms of horrible bugs having heard mention of baby wipes on here I stopped to see if I could buy some at a village shop but they only had facial wipes which leave a smeary mark on my visor/headlight afterwards so I bought a household cleaning cloth off the shop and got it wet from a neighbouring filling station and used that what do you do about the dreaded insects?

I've got two bikes and now a third is greeping into my greedy vision, another old dog needing a home. but, tbh I don't need it and I can't really afford the running costs..it's that acquisitive must have thing like in the TV programme Porridge where Fulton Mackay says that the prisoners steal things and then think whether they need it afterwards

A girl at work has started a petition following a SMIDSY (she's ok, bike written off). She's after at least 2,000 signatures by the end of the month so Ishe can hand it in to No. 10. Thought you might be able to help... http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/driving-standards-agency-change-the-driving-test-to-include-motorcycle-awareness

I've been tearing my house apart for the last 4 hours looking for my driving licence counterpart but no luck yet, I need it by next Thursday so not much chance of getting a copy by then so I'll just have to think of where I hid last, worst idea ever to have your licence in two half's neither is of little use on its own anyway

This is more an opportunity for you to laugh at me than me asking for advice. Was on my way to college today, my friend was driving behind me. I pull out onto a roundabout and start accelerating towards an exit that goes onto a big bridge. BANG. No power. Manage to quickly run up the slip road with it and put it in a bus stop, after frantically waving my arms around to indicate a breakdown, since my bike has no hazard lights. Chain has came off and completely jammed itself. Had to call a motovlogger for help who's number I happen to have Not a good experience when you've been riding for 2 weeks. http://youtu.be/5BRDa9UhdpA?t=2m25s

Just booked my CBT renewal. It looks like I've been riding around illegally I thought the limit for renewal was 3 years (I'm sure it used to be when I first did it as a 16 year old) I am on m yhird year of riding so I should of renewed it last year. So obviously because I don't have a valid CBT I am riding illegally. I presume my insurance will be void.

Picked up my new XVS 1300 custom today, first new bike for about 35 years, only managed a short ride today but will be going for a decent ride tomorrow. Its amazing how different it is to ride compared to the 1300 midnight star that I had and funny being back with pegs again. Only disappointments are my solo seat and rack hasn't been delivered yet and that really crappy quiet exhaust, I mean come on Yamaha its a V twin its meant to be fucking LOUD, looks like I'll be changing or modding them sometime real soon.

Hi everyone, Last time I asked you for advice on how to ride on UK roads like a gentleman, which was really helpful. I've now been doing it for a while now and your tips were spot on. Now I'm afraid it's time to sell my noble steed and upgrade to something heavier. This bike has been a family member for the last 7 years, so I'd rather sell it privately rather than part exchange. The legal aspect of it seems pretty easy - a few signatures and a tear-away slip on the registration document, but I'm unsure how to handle the actual sale process. Suppose I put up an ad, a prospect buyer shows up and we have a little chat - is it customary to then allow a test rid…

Yep, not for me though. I'm looking for a bike for my dad he is not web savvy so I'm doing the looking. My dad has an itch that needs scratching. He has always talked about the triumph sport cub, SPECIFICALLY the sport cub not the tiger cub. A T20SH in anorak, ideally around 63/64. Or, option 2 is a Triumph 350 or 500 speed twin. Ideally around 64 when they stopped fitting the fairing around the rear of the bike. Maybe a mid season one but not the early. He is def not looking for sheds either, all he wants to do is ride it on a blue moon and polish it after, so mint or near as. If anybody has any tips or leads in the triumph world if you could let me k…

Jeez, it seems like an age since I've been on here. A lot has changed, but nothing has changed (wife and I both lost out remaining parents during lockdowns; wife lost her sister and 2 aunts, I need a hip replacement, wife has been diagnosed with angina and our son has been diagnosed with FND and now needs a wheelchair to get around), we still have the same bikes and like everyone else we're getting to used to life outside lockdown again. This past year I've made a couple of subtle changes to the FJ (Fazer 1000 mirrors, wavy rear disc, braided stainless clutch line) as well giving her a bit of a deep clean, but mostly I've just been riding her. Quite a few 100-200 mil…

Hi Guys, As I'm a noob motorcycle head who's in the process of getting his M/C License via DAS, I was just wondering what clothes do I need to wear when I attend the DAS course? Do I need to buy the following items before I do the course or would the DAS people provide it?? 1) Helmet (Looking at the AGV Demon......they look cool and relatively cheap about £150!) 2) Leather Jacket and Trousers. (Probably at least £350!!!) 3) Boots (about £120!) 4) Gloves (about £30) Fuc£ me!!! That's about £650 even before I've bought a bike!!! One more think, does everyone always ride in leathers? Can you just ride in thick jeans and a leather…
