Thought I'd go for a little ride out today - grea fun, twisty roads, loads of flies on my visor etc..... Turned down a road is not used before to discover a ford. It was shallow about 5 or 6" deep so I thought why not! Soon realised the answer should have been turn around - slowly in first gear, entered the water and then noticed all the slime and algae on the road. I've always fancied off roading and the like but going sideways on an SR is perhaps not the most sensible thing I've ever tried! I don't mind admitting I shat myself. Twice!

Unbelievable - bought a 2001 R1 about 3 weeks ago and was woken up about 5am this morning as the alarm was going off. I knew they were popular but 3 weeks?! Anyway, this morn - I ran out of my flat to find the cover had been taken off, the front disc lock was on the pavement and the bike was lying on its right hand side. Picked the bike up and found no scratches apart from a very, very light stone chip or two on the side cowling can only guess the alarm went and they had the good sense not to drop it?? Bizarre... thought I would be looking at some new panelling. Couple of questions for you guys/girls and would be grateful for any advice: - I'm assuming i…

Hey all, Just wondering if anyone is heading to the NEC for the bike show over the next week? I'm keen to hear peoples reports/Opinions. All being well, I'll be there next Saturday and I cant wait! Fingers crossed I don't have a repeat of last years fiasco where we sat on a plane for hours waiting for snow to clear - never did get off the ground

Hi Guys, I haven't been on this forum for a few weeks now, how's everyone? I just been to the NEC Show yesterday and sat on louds of bikes, Had a great day out! (apart from the traffic jams in and around Birmingham!) I've noticed that new sportbikes are getting smaller these days! I sat on the new GSX-R1000 and that bike is small! I got to say, out of all the bike I sat on, the Yamahas were the best. I felt that they had really good build quality and I just felt GOOD on a YAM! I sat on the Honda's and just didn't feel right!? The new Kawasaki ZX-6R was nice but I didn't feel too comfortable on it and I didn't like it's small dials. The Gixxer 60…

Hi, I need a bit of help or advise with my Yamaha YBR125 as I have a small problem with either the clutch or gearbox. The problem is when i shift up or down some times the bike seems to slip into neutral and the revs shoot up, I then struggle trying to get it back into gear as it refuses to click and acknowledge a gear and seems to stay in this false neutral for a bit, usually it clicks out after a bit and jumps into gear but on some occasions I have to pull over and stall and bump start it. Can someone please give me a bit of advise or support as I am a learner and Im not sure whether it is me doing something wrong or the bike is damaged. Thanks.

Does any one know if the gas tanks are interchangeable on the 1972-73 DT 250 and the 1972-73 RT 360? I have a really nice '73 DT 250 (green), all orginal with a factory buddy seat. The only problem is the big knee print (about the size of a grapefruit) in the gas tank (right side).

So first of all, let me tell you the story. This last week I received three bikes from a friend, the deal was that if i fix his I get to keep the other two. (we had done the same deal except i got a truck for fixing two other bikes) the main problem on any of his vehicles is he uses them, the tags expire, and they sit, and sit, and sit... so naturally there is A LOT of varnish in the carbs and gas tanks, which is no problem, a few hours a piece and you've got them running. This time is different. The bikes i received are as follows 1980 Yamaha 400 Special II (blue) 1980/1981? (the bikes are essentially the same, just a little different on certain parts) Yamaha 4…

Brilliant ride out today in the sunshine to the new forrest where I spent the day with my eldest and his other half but on the way home in the dark 4 or 5 deer came out of nowhere like bats out of hell and lept across the road in front of me and behind me, fuck knows how they missed me.
