And here it is....a new XT660R! No point in me waiting for the 55 reg cos the XT will be the one that goes to Spain, and will get re-registered there. The ideal bike for Spanish roads I'd say! As for the TDM....it's a very good bike. But I just couldn't get on with it...particularly the handling. Even though the TDM was faster and had better brakes than the Strom, in every other area the Strom just whips it's ass. I've always wanted one of the new XT's....and the Spanish relocation plus the great deal just forced my hand. What's it like? I've done 120 miles on it and so far it seems to me to have similar performance to the Trans…

last night i took the lining out of my rossi rep agv and gave it a good wash as it was getting a bit ! anyway, my old arai schwantz rep could really do with the same, but the lining doesnt come out. any suggestions as to how i could freshen it up?! i was going to name this thread cleaning my helmet but you're all a bunch of dirty b'stards and would lower the tone!

Been doing them since last Friday going home from work and it's really smooth! I only do them when accelerating hard though, as I tried to do them while going at normal speed and the gears just doesn't want to go in. So if I'm not accelerating hard doing town riding and stuff, then I use the clutch to shift. Also, I've been blipping the throttle when shifting down too, works really well especially when it's wet as it stops your back end from fish tailing when their's too much touque in a lower gear shifting down. Do you guys do this? And is Clutchless upshifts OK for my bike, it seems a lot smoother than shifting up using the clutch.......so I guess it…

Does anyone here know anything about 'Draggin Jeans'? I keep seeing them advertised and they appeal as a kind of compromise between leather jeans and plain denim for the 'nip down to the shop' sort of trip which is where so many people seem to come unstuck. At least with the Kevlar incorporated into the fabric they must offer a higher degree of protection than anything else, not withstanding full on gear, but at about £90 a pair I would like to hear some opinions about them before I shell out. Any info appreciated. Andy

Do people usually pull full throttle to get max acceleration or is it done gradually and smoothly?

Well, my name is Sam.. Surname is Duff, hence Dufferz haha. I've lurked this site as a guest for an hour or so, and I have decided it would be worth my while the become a member I've recently passed my CBT (I'm only 16 so I'm restricted to 50cc's ) My bike, a Yamaha DT50MX, 1984.. 16 previous owners. A few of these defonately need a head check! One of them stuck some of the electrics together with tinfoil and sellotape.. not electrical tape and solder/clippy things that I forget the name of. As you can see, theres lots of things that I need to do, involving rust unfortunately > Well, I don't want to keep you all reading for too long…

Some fucking idiot dressed in a black suit with his face shielded behind his umbrella while he lit a fucking cigarette decided to walk out right infront of me today on my way to work in the pitch black. Strait out from between the tree's without a glance at whats coming, what kind of thick cunt walks out into a busy road without looking. I was about 15 feet from him when he walked out, he carried on strolling out and didnt see me or hear me until I came to a complete stop and dropped the bike. £200-£---- godknows repair bill for my beautiful new bike, he buggered off hobbling home despite the fact that I, the person who just dropped a new bike offered to phone him an ambu…

Just had a off and back from the hosiptal. Am ok my knee is a bit fooked and my jeans and lid are finished. My jacket dont have a mark on it but my arm is brused and cut - dont understand this!! Going down a country road near my house enjoying the ride took a slight right hand bend aound 40mph and hit a lots of gravel on on the exit. Down i go bike rh fairing is done so in the indicator and the rh engine cover case oil all over the road. Took a walk back and realised how much gravel was on the road... loads. On further inspection i saw a big pile on the road side that had just been left from road works that had spilled on the road. Is it the councils fault? If so wh…

I may be in the market for a shed. This would be for bikes and tools only, retaining my garden shed for the mower and the likes. I would like to have the biggest I can afford/get away with/allowed. This will probably be a 10 x 8. I am looking at metal ones due to the lack of maintenance. As I have semi limited access to my rear garden this would be for longer term tinkering and not day to day storage. Any thoughts on the size and material (metal)? I can run power and water (including lights/heat/cooling fan) and was looking to fit a full length work bench down one side. Cheers.

Well just letting you guys know, after much enduring the bike is finally road legal! I want shot of the damn thing now... 4 stroke please!! I love the fact it's been insanely tuned and is rapid as fook but when I have the front wheel lift I want it to be because I made it happen not just because the bike is mental!! Worryingly it still has the standard gearing/sprockets and it tries to lift in 4th as well... I'm thinking maybe an XT or WR next lol great bike if you don't live in an area that is heavily policed but not worth my license! Shall list it over the weekend on ebay I think!! However... I'm making sure my next bike is a Yammy 4 stroke! No…

Hi folks! In my last post I mentioned I was looking for a new project. Well, just paid the deposit on my new baby! I've bought a Honda VFR400 NC30. Its got a full Tyga fairing kit, seat unit etc. Been sitting for a while but runs, so hopefully a good service, clean fuel & degunked carbs should sort that. Paintwork isn't to my liking so that'll be getting redone too, but that's the fun of a project - stamping your own personality on it. Can't wait to get it home, probably be the weekend at the earliest but I'm so pleased!
