I used to have a 2007 R6 - which came with a solo seat cowl and some blanking plates for the pillion pegs. I now have a 2008 R6 - which came with neither. Are pillion peg blanking plates available for the 2008 R6 - on first look, the 2006/2007 ones won'r fit.

Hi there - just joined the site after getting my first bike 5 months ago - loving it! Have spent hours on the site already and learnt loads - thanks!! Can anyone help me with what will probably sound like a stupid question. I've just bought the Evotech tail tidy online and from the instructions it seemed simple to fit - so at the weekend set to by removing the seat cowl - only to find a whole host of plastic and seemingly no way to get to the bolts so i could unscrew the factory fitted set . Any tips on what to do next? I removed as much as i could to see if the black plastic bit could be lifted but it seems to go under the seat and contain various bits of ba…

Hi all, just after a bit of advice really; Got an 08 r6 beginning of march, after putting down a deposit, the amount on 0% credit is £6100. made a payment so now down to £5900. right the reason for my post: it has been announced at work possible redundancy, and if i am laid off, i wont be able to keep up the repayments on the r6, so would have to sell. I dont know where i stand with taking the bike back, if the dealership would "buy back" the bike ( to be honest if i lost the £1500 ive already paid, it would be more peace of mind for me knowing the bike had been paid off) or if another garage would offer me more? The bikes done 100 miles, and ive been out on …

Hello everyone, I have 2008 Yamaha Zuma 49cc 2-stroke that is having issues starting. I have spark, fuel (fresh gas) is flowing through the line when I suck on the vac line, but my compression is pretty low, 70 psi. I will crank the engine 7 or 8 times, my compression tester will reach around 70 psi, then I will hear a slight release of pressure and the pressure on the gauge will slowly bleed down. I'm performing the test with the carburetor off, reed valve (new reed valve assembly) cage installed. Any ideas on what to check next? Thanks

I have a new R1 (2009) with crossplane - love it - what a machine. However when I start her up she has developed a rattle or series of knocks (guess between 2 and 5 rattles before she settles down)and it is getting worse (slightly). Looks to me like there might be problem in the design/lubrication system. The noise is a dry running 'tappety' sound - like a marble rattling at extreme speed. Anyone know anything about this. We've all been looking for it - a new release normally means the first owners are the trial guinea pigs - anyone else got the same problem? I have found one other mention on a US site: http://forum.motorcycle-usa.com/default.aspx?f=18&m=…

Anybody know how to go about getting a new bike imported here to the US.? I would love to get my hands on the new XT1200 Super Tenere but they are not offered here or in Canada. What a incredible bike and loaded with technilogical advances too! Maybe you know somebody at Yamaha Motor Corp. that can help. I also have a friend that desires one as well. You will too I am sure. If you are unaware of this bike google it. There also are post on youtube of the bike including ads from Yamaha. It seems like we always get cheated on the good stuff here.

Today I was out riding most of the day. Not a single problem. Besides the usual driver you have to swerve for because they've never heard of checking their blind spots. Coming home though, as I came down the freeway off-ramp, downshifting to 4th.. Was fine. Then 3rd.. fine. Then 2nd.. Hang on. Clutch pulled in and I'm pressing down on the gear shift lever and nothing. My foot is just moving up and down. No click, no gear engaging. Wth. I accelerated a bit more and squeezed the clutch back in but nothing. I tapped my foot a few times and it was just freely bouncing up and down. I eventually got it into 2nd then pulled up and it wouldn't get into 1st. Same issue.. …
