Hi guys. Looking at trying to get a tiny bit more speed out of my fizzy. Heard people talking about removing the baffel out of the exhaust. How do I do this? Any links? I don’t want to do any damage and normally I just look on YouTube for any problems that I need solving. Can’t find any baffel vids for a Fs1e on you tube. Please help guys.

Ok, so HOW many times do we hear the pub championship winning tw@ say he has saved 3grammes from fitting a different headlight bulb. They say losing a bit of weight makes all the difference, well after that diabetic business I had/have/er? anyway. From October I am now a trim 75kg, (around 12st). That's over 4 stone down. Now this year my bike has felt a lot quicker, initially I had to change the suspension preload by quite a lot and it certainly goes a damn sight better. I thought my cock up fitting those wheels with a 40 instead of a 44 tooth sprocket would be on my to do list. Not a bit of it, pulls it fine now I have got rid of the flab. That got me wo…

My boy has told me he's looking for a new bike. He has had his xv535 since passing his test about 8yrs ago, although the last two years he's done the sum total of nowt. Last year he joined my job and a few guys on his shift are riding modern bikes so that's what he's after. Seems to have his mind on an xjr1300 (coz he liked my 1200) but I'm thinking maybe a bit too fast (protective father time) I showed him a tdm900 but he thinks it a bit small in height. He is 6'1" I don't think it is. Any other recommendations or should I just stfu and get a few shots of the xjr

Hi, Looking for some knowledge on my Maj. 250's exhaust hanger main bush (through which the rear wheel spindle passes). For recent MoT (new rear tyre) I removed tailpipe and hanger, and then noticed that the bush had quite a bit of movement / play where the rear spindle goes through, - links below to vids I put on Youtube. Both sides move against the rubber, - the fixed metal bush, and the removal one on the other face. Simple question - anyone know if it's designed to have some movement, or if it's just worn out? Thanks! https://youtu.be/y4GF1Fb5BHw https://youtu.be/EOB1UmcfPkk

I've been commuting year round for 2.5 years now on my trusty old Thunderace and being an old bike, it requires regular and sometimes in depth maintenance. Which, because I'm riding pretty much EVERY day, it's not getting... So... I bought myself a 2018 edition (registered 2017) Suzuki DL1000A to take the strain off the Thunderace and also allow me to strip it down and do the work to it it needs. Now. I'm not used to a V-Twin so, my questions are: 1/ When you wind a V-Twin on, do they always sound like several people are hammering a piece of concrete a couple of doors away? 2/ Baring in mind the above question, how do I tell if the engine is…

Hey. Not quite a square peg in a round hole but I need to get a 17mm spindle to bolt up into a hole designed for a 19mm thread. Is for a set of forks, they use a 19mm spindle and my dymags use a 17mm. Turning down a spindle to fit the wheel is the easy bit. What are the typical routes to sort it, some sort of helicoil, weld it and machine a new hole? Not sure what is typical.

Decided to get roadworthy after Around 11 years stuck in garage. Just taken fuel tank out and carbs off. All fairings off (have been since it was difficult to start some 11 yrs ago ) 1st issue ; front brake master cylinder has taken off some of the black paint around reservoir and control switch. Opened up reservior, it has turned a little jelly like. What is best way to clean out the old brake fluid in the system so I can clean up and repaint. 2nd issue; exhaust bolts snapped off trying to remove. Got exhaust off but only two bolts came out well. Any ideas how to remove the broken remains of the bolts. Last resort will be trying to take down to alloy casing an…

Hi, I have been struggling with an issue with my XS500B. The engine has been rebuilt. Re-bore, new seals, gaskets etc. I took it apart because it was smoking from the right cylinder and running very rough. So imagine my frustration when it was still smoking from the same side! So I took it apart again and checked the valve seals, barrels, cylinder head for cracks etc etc etc. I carefully re-assembled it and guess what? The problem is still there. What am I missing? Is it something other than mechanical? Electrical? Fuel? I have replaced the coils and condenser. I also have rebuilt the carbs with a re-build kit and kept the standard airbox and filter. The airscr…

Just wondering, can you park your bike anywhere in town centres? Just as long as it's not in the way or anything? Can I just chain it to a fence or something would that be OK? The traffic warden won't get me right?

i've just turned 21. so now i can ride around with my bike on full power. Im not your normal 21 year old who all seem to just want to get from a to b at 140 mph. i did have a thundercat but as some of you might know i had a really bad smash meaning i haven't got anything on the road. but i just wondered what other people thought of this restriction rule. it seems that it's always one rule for bikes and another rule for cars.

5.30am GMT - no one logged in  I was up, beer goggles on but wearing off, big headache and had the motoGP on. Yamaha has a world champion !!! Rossi wins and secures the title for a 4th time. I really didn't think he woul do it this year, I figured the Yamaha steed really needed more time and development before it was a world beater. Good solid stuff !

Friendlies and sensible people.... need some advice please.. I'm selling off some stuff on ebay - a couple of items that are all worth over £200 each. I've gotten a few emails asking if I'd sell privately and close the auction. The problem is that there are over 20 people watching one of the items and I think it would be a bit tight to cut them off. What to do ? Close it down and sell or leave it be and let nature take it's course ? Thanks - J
