First time Yamaha owner here.. and I gotta say.. i'm hooked. My question is.. where is a good resource to find owner/repair manuals for older yamahas? My current yamaha is a 76 DT 400.. i'm completely in love with it! I know my way around an engine for the most part.. it would however help if I could get my hands on the service manual.. even the owners manual. It currently has no lights except the head light. I usually use it for the bush.. but in the last few days.. am now thinking of putting it on the road.. So wiring would be my first priority. Also.. I noticed there's a battery under the seat.. yet I don't see an electric start.. only kick. Mind you it k…

Don't know about anybody else but I have clocked up a few miles this winter. I have done my time being a full time motorcyclist and much as people may say otherwise, for me, fuck that!. My car is cheaper, quicker (yes if you include putting all your gear on, unlocking the garage, then the bike etc) and warm and dry. But I have been out using the bike. Bloody good it feels too. Its cold granted but the roads on the whole of late have been salt free and relatively clear of the usual winter slime. Even some sunshine. I know it cant last and Feb will blast us, or March for a late frosting who knows. But for now, yay.

Ha sorry to disappoint you I'm not about to slope off just yet Father put his 3 year old daughter to bed, told her a story and listened to her prayers which ended by saying, "God bless Mommy, God bless Daddy, God bless Grandma and good-bye Grandpa." The father asked, 'Why did you say good-bye Grandpa?' The little girl said, "I don't know daddy, it just seemed like the right thing to say." The next day grandpa died. The father thought it was a strange coincidence. A few months later the father put the girl to bed and listened to her prayers which went like this, "God bless Mommy, God Bless Daddy and good-bye Grandma." The next day the grandmother died. "Holy Moses…

This will be my last post for some time. This will come as a shock to some of you, but I have made the monumental decision to take off for a complete year effective from next Monday. The lorry shall stop, and no doubt my marriage shall suffer, but those who know me, know that I do what I think is right, and if it hurts or offends -SO WHUT! There are a number of reasons, but the major contributor to my decision has been my involvement with a white nationalist guerrilla group in Venezuela of all places, which is fighting for freedom and justice against unbelievable odds. This is also the main reason for me selling my bike. I have been in contact with this group for a…

I was a regular at the Ducatisti forum, until my 748 caught fire and was sent to the scrapyard. I then bought an R6 and proudly joined this site, made some friends, and did a trip to Monza on it...diary available at........ www.freewebs.com/monza2008 but.....following the theft of the R6, I have bought a Honda CBR600 RR. So now I must find a comparable Honda site to chat all things bike. I will still visit this forum, as a historically experienced Yamaha rider... Had great times. Thanks. Daiv

The little XT350 has now gone back to Wales.....sold to one of the guys in Cardiff! And I've bought this... 98 TDM850, genuine 8000 miles, and only 2 owners. Unfortunately it's 1500 miles away in Cardiff.........a dealer we know there gave me a hell of a deal on it, it's just been fully serviced, new front tyre, Euro plate, 12 months MOT (done yesterday) and 3 months tax! It's now stored at a mate's house till I can sort out the logistics to get it over to Spain!

Its not for everyone, but give it at least 2 trys and you just might get hooked The 'Vez 20Ten' (the YOC meet at Squires) had me in North Yorkshire, I set off a day earlier than the rest of the reprobates, so on that first day on my lonesome I went 'geo-caching' Geo-caching is a worldwide game/sport/hobby/sad act, what ever way you want to look at it but its an amazing way to get to see your area-or other areas that you would never find or see, as mostly you would just leisurely bimble past at 95mph (Lord Cardboard Dave) etc, anyhoo,-put your postcode or address into the boxes and select 5 mile radius or 10 mile radius or 270 mile radius and have a looky, …

Well here is my car on the M4! My car was caught doing 97mph which is a bit of a bummer as upto 95 is a fixed penalty so now i have a notice of intended prosecution and have to goto court :-( There website is pretty cool as you can get to see the pics, they cant show me the video though as i have to goto the police station to see it. And apparantly im not allowed a photo without my passenger blurred as its against data protection, which i think is a bit odd. This Polish guy didn't see me at a junction and clipped me. Luckily I was unhurt, but his bumper and grill are badly damaged. I can't believe the amount of damage my bike caused to his car, when my bike hasn't a scratch on it. I think it would be a different story if I was on a sports bike and not a supermoto. The rear footpeg saved me! It has been annoying me for months because it keeps falling down when I fold it up. It saved my leg from being crushed.
