Here's one for you FJ fans - https://www.donedeal.ie/vintagebikes-for-sale/one-of-a-kind-custom-bike-must-see/11822718 I'm not sure if it's towing that skip or just about to be thrown into it ! Going by that "chair" on the back it could be just the job for a mobile dentist's surgery . You'd save a fortune on laughing gas .

  5. I took it off as it was getting a bitty rusty, have been a total wingnut and forgot how it went on exactly... Firstly the left base of the stand, when riding - springs up and hits the underneath of the chain (shown in picture 2 below). When going over a bump in the road in bounces around underneath me. It feels as though it should have a washer or a very thin spacer on the axle as it wobbles from side to side a bit and this could be causing the base to hit the chain...? Also it doesn't feel like it snaps shut and if it did it would completely jam into the chain. May I need a new spring?) Could someone please mail me a picture of theirs so I can match it? This is what…

Hi, New to the forum. Just bought a DT250 MX for £300 - it's in a bit of a state but that's okay (that was the plan). Wasn't used on the road for many years and so has no reg plates (among other things). I'm trying to find the VIN so I can send off for the log book. WHERE IS THE VIN?! I've located a number of some description on the headstock and on the engine (they match) that goes like *1R7-132216* but I've come to understand that this isn't what I'm looking for. Could anyone tell me what that number is and more importantly, where are the numbers I'm looking for? You'd think this would be a simple operation but it's been made slightly more difficult by the previous owne…

  7. Hi Folks - I'm learning my away around bike maintenance, it's secondhand 19k on the clock, with little knowledge of past servicing. I've been recommended refitting the chain and sprockets. I was wondering what you guys would be checking whilst the back wheel is off? I've got the Haynes and am happy to do entry level mechanics myself! Any thoughts? Cheers!

So I had my theory test booked this morning. I got there 5 minutes late so now I have to re-book it and pay for it again. What a con. Now I have to wait another three weeks before I can get an opening for another test. I just wanted to get the ball rolling. Now by the time I get on a bigger bike for lessons the weather will be freezing.

I've never used mirrors on my bikes before because I think they look stupid on my style of bike. I got some of those that stick into the end of your bars but they're pretty crap. I want some that screw into the mirror sockets but not with massive long arms. I don't know the word slimline? Anyway I can't find any. Has anybody got a link?

Hi all, My bike has a faulty CDI unit which is causing total loss of power every time I go over any kind of bump so it needs replacing, but I've been looking around and I'm confused by models and dates. Mine is from 1995 so does this mean anything pre-2003 when the new shape was introduced will work? Also how likely is the new shape to work in my bike, is it specifically for post 2003 models, as the new one is much easier to obtain and much cheaper. Thanks!

Hi guys, have been having a bit of bother with a stiff front wheel for a while now - has been on and off. I'm looking at the piston and am wondering if it's meant to sit flush with the caliper or if it's meant to rise above the caliper by about 2-3mm. Cheers, Louis. Happy riding

Hi all, I'm new here so apologies if I've posted this wrong, but I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me? My 125 dragstar has recently been playing up just after starting making it hard to get it running. it'll start okay, but then on giving it any throttle the front cylinder will bottle out and stop firing properly. this is a consistent problem and I've tried to remedy it by changing the sparks, oil, and a few other things, but none have seemed to work. It might be useful to say I changed the pipes to straight throughs when I got it and the mixture leaned off due to the decreased back pressure, but I rejetted the carb which fixed the problem- but now …

Okay, So I have a complete Stage6 set up literally everything in terms of CVT/Engine is all S6. I'm gonna tell you I have played with my carb which I regret but I'm not sure if that's the issue as the mixture screw only effects up to half throttle so I know my 21mm Dellor screw is fine. My Aerox is rapid up to half throttle , if I pull it anymore it slows down/losses power (don't like to say bogging as that is not really what it's doing) It's got open air filter with 92 main. Any ideas on why it's doing this? Fuel is fine, seals are fine compression test was great. Vacuum is fine. Thanks Guys!

Hi all, I`m in need of a bit of expert advice (so whats new lol) I am not exactly mechanically minded, but will give anything a go with a bit of help. I last used the Draggie in November for a Remembrance Day parade, got her out last week, started up fine, left running to warm up, then when I switched off, the starter motor was continuously turning even with no ignition on, I removed the key and it was still turning, I had to disconnect the battery to stop the bloody thing, solenoid?? What do you guys/gals think?

  17. Seen this on eBay, looks great for a hot day and looks like it would protect skin which would touch the ground if you come off, would you say it's okay to just wear this and be pretty much protected from roadrash etc? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-S-M-Acerbis-KOERTA-2-0-Body-Armour-Motocross-BMX-Downhill-Enduro-/142234104223? It can become a pain commuting to work or other places and needing to wear the massive jacket or trousers with the knee pads, would be great to just throw some armour on over normal jeans and have it cover areas which contact the ground in a slide.
