The continuous insurance enforcement scheme will provide a new fixed penalty for people who ignore official reminders that their insurance has expired. This will apply to vehicles that are not declared as being off the road through SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) and not insured. Continuing offenders will risk having their vehicle seized and destroyed. Where a motor vehicle isn't used on a road or other public place, there’s no requirement to purchase insurance cover for 'on road risk' as long as a SORN declaration has been made. The continuous insurance enforcement scheme is expected to come into force during 2011. more information http://www.direct.gov.uk/e…

Did anyone have the misfortune of seeing the 6 o'clock news...there was an article on there about biking summer fatalities, JEEZ..lets just say that we are the scum of Britain and that we should be all shot, i've never seen so much 1 sided journalism in my life . Nice one to the geeza from Sussex when asked what could be done about biker deaths on the road, he replied teach the car drivers how to drive...or something to that affect.

Just thought I'd share my first real 'idiot moment' that I had today. 5pm, bikes warmed up ready to leave work and the workshop floor's wet as it's peeing down near Old Trafford. Gets on the bike and about to leave. My right foot slipped enough on the wet floor to put me off balance and my rather weighty FZR (around 181kg I think) starts to go over. I fought hard to keep it up but it beat me in the end. To make matters worse, as it went down, I couldn't help but rev it so everyone was alerted to my antics in time to see me drop the bugger! It's not too bad, corner of the screen is now missing (was gonna replace it at a later date anyway) right front flasher lens was ri…

  8. I woke up this morning with my alarm sounding and by the time I got out the front door the culprit was gone. I just woke up, so I didn't think of taking pictures at the time. After I lifted it back up and checked for visual damage I only found damage where the engine, fairing and road met this morning. I had it covered with good cover at least! I think I know who it was. I was parked on the street with my nose to my front door, about 4ft behind a 4x4 Merc and on my left a white Ford. My left mirror was bent flat as the vehicle reversed into my bike. The other thing that makes me more sure that it was the 4x4 is that the car that was parked in front of the Merc was …

Hi everyone I recently had a moment of clarity whilst unloading my recently aquired DT out of the back of my lpg converted kia... stako currently make a 7 litre lpg tank which is roughly the same size as a topbox, and i have also aquired a second DT for parts, but now I'm thinking, could I convert a DT to lpg? How would a two-stroke engine react to the change? As ever, any input appreciated -foamy

Hey guys, I'm on an absolute high at the moment - just come back from my Mod 1, and PASSED!! I can't even begin to tell you how nervous I was about this particular test. Out of the CBT, Theory and looming Mod 2, it was the Mod 1 that worried me the most. So, I can breathe a sigh of relief now, enjoy the rest of my day and focus on Mod 2!

I brought my bike initially for commuting and to escape the ridiculous price of public transport. I did a practice run today to and from work, with my boyfriend driving in front/behind (acting as my wing man), and apart from a few minor things, I was doing really well (for someone who has only had about 4 days of riding experience). Pretty confident with my gear shifts, stopping & starting, slow riding in traffic and hazard perception - all were basically spot on. I was almost home, and I got up to some lights, and I must have forgotten to check my gears (I must have been in third gear, I think) as when the lights went green, I added some throttle and the bike…

Hey guys - I've taken the opportunity to go camping this weekend - first time with the F800GT. Absolutely loving the fact it has luggage (compared with my Street Triple). Left Surrey this morning and took the minor roads up to a regular campsite of mine near Buxton. Weather is holding out so far. I've not had the greatest start to 2017 - so quite frankly it's just nice to chill at a campsite today, but tomorrow I'll head off for a bimble around and about (so any of my lovely Mancunian-based buddies feel free to give me a shout!). The bike is performing well so far - I was able to pack for a somewhat luxurious camping trip (chair, walking gear, all my food/drink …

Aghhh nooooooooooo just put the advert in MCN, cost me £40!!! for one week. They are a scam the prices from £24 for a photo add is for 12 words, and out of that you have to have the make and model, and your phone number so you get a lot of words not  Anyway posted a link to www.yamahaclub.com/yzf which links back to the forum, so hopefully if i dont sell my bike at least there will be a few more members 8) The annoying thing is the add doesnt go in this week, goes in on the 16th which means i have EXACTLY 2 weeks to sell the bike
