Hi there - just joined the site after getting my first bike 5 months ago - loving it! Have spent hours on the site already and learnt loads - thanks!! Can anyone help me with what will probably sound like a stupid question. I've just bought the Evotech tail tidy online and from the instructions it seemed simple to fit - so at the weekend set to by removing the seat cowl - only to find a whole host of plastic and seemingly no way to get to the bolts so i could unscrew the factory fitted set . Any tips on what to do next? I removed as much as i could to see if the black plastic bit could be lifted but it seems to go under the seat and contain various bits of ba…

Hello everybody, I'm new here and happy to join the Yamaha-lovers. I've just bought an XJ900 '83 (31A) this afternoon. It is in a terrible state now, but I'm hoping to get it restored to its former glory. For the moment I'm a bit confused, since all the pictures I can find on the net, have a square headlight whereas I have a round one. I have found an owner manual and there I can see the difference between the 900F (with square light and three gauges (speedo, tacho, fuel) and the 900 (round light and two gauges (speedo and tacho). Now, my bike has a round light and speedo, tacho and fuel gauges. Any information about the bike would be appreciated a lot. …

An anti bike cop needs to be ousted he has been nicked for speeding 3 times recently and still holds a road traffic safety position is trying to get bikes banned petition here Meredydd Hughes, former ACPO Head of Road Policing Business Area, was last year banned from driving for reaching 90mph in a 60mph zone, his third speeding offence. As the case emerged, ACPO announced he was to step down from his road policing duties. However, he effectively continues to perform the same duties as Head of Business Area for Uniformed Operations including Road Policing. A three-time convicted speeder with responsibility for road policing at this level undermines any Government r…

Hiya peeps Just thought I would say hello as it seemed rude not to Anyway, I have filled in my 'about me' page so I am not going to bother writing it all out again. I have been a Yamaha nut ever since I was old enough to reach the bike mags on the shelf. The first bike I saw in a magazine was the newly released Yamaha FZ750 and I have been hooked ever since My first ever bike was a Yamaha FZR400RR at 14. Purely car park and industrial estate riding, I never managed to fully appreciate the bike I bought a brand new R1 in 1998 (certified as number 137 off the production line), but I was only ever a passenger I'…

Hi, This morning I took my bike for a wash at my usual hand washer. He uses a jet washer as well, but he knows to be careful as the local bike mechanic taught him well... Anyways, I have taken my bike there many times before, but today when I rode home, I noticed that my oil light is on and it is staying on. Got home checked the oil level etc. All OK. Now I've heard that this is only a low oil level indicator light and not a low oil pressure indicator, but I would just like to make sure. I have to work tonight and I think it might just simply be that a bit of water made it's way to the wiring and that the light will go out once the bike had some time to sta…

Hi all, Going to France in May with a firm called `British Bike Tours`, going to the `Bridge in the Sky` tour. and because this is my first time abroad on the bike..FZ2 600, going with a mate as well, we chose to go on an organised tour first. My reason for this thread is that i would like any feed back from any bikers who have been to France, even to the Bridge in the Sky tour, on advice of what to take on these tours? books to get maybe, places to visit, tips on anything really. I think that if it all goes so well in May we will try on our own to do another trip, so any feed back greatly appreciated please!

I'm having terrible trouble reading the forum for weeks now it has taken ages for the page to load - if at all. This is first post since forum has moved to new servers I think. So I'm gonna make it a long one! How you getting on with the Oxford Grips OG?! I've fitted some to my T'cat and well - Awesome is all I can say. I was on A57 (two weekends ago) from Sheff when silencer clamp bolt fell off and silencer twisted round and stuck out a mile (grounding on right handers). Shit myself. After my Brother rescued me I nearly drowned going through deep water near Bamford (Water coursing off the hills from the melting snow). Shit myself again. Was great though, looked …

Pets The following was found posted very low on a refrigerator door. Dear Dogs and Cats: The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest. The stairwaywas not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Racing me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run. I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on…
