I have pretty well bought this bike, getting delivered next weekend. Question I have is that all the pics I've seen of these bikes are red or white and have the wide grey swoosh on the tank and side covers. The bike I'm looking at is all black and just has yamaha in print on the tank. It doesnt look to have been painted or dropped and has 40000 miles on it. New here so haven't fiqured how to post a picture of it yet. Any input would be great. Thanks

Hey guys - and gals, for the politically correct out there Back in the saddle after too many years of being subjected to driving those darned 4-wheel vehicles - give me two wheels any day. First rebuild project is a 1983 Yamaha XT125 (sad I know, but you've gotta start somewhere) - it's sound and in good 'nick. However, the exhaust downpipe/silencer/muffler is looking tired and will probably fall apart as soon as I touch it. Does anyone out there know if any of the later/still available model 125 systems will fit? Originals from 1983 are as rare as hens teeth or rocking horse manure (being polite there). Having trouble with the bike starting after it gets warm. Green light is hard to get on, and cant figure out why the clutch switch wont let it start in gear, you know with the clutch held in. Now in the mean time you can push it off and starts every time. I have had the bike for going on 5 years and love it. My first bike. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all, Newbie here. I am the second owner of a 1984 FJ600 with 5,587 kms. I am interested in selling but I honestly think this is more than just a 26 yr old bike. 100% original except for a rear turn signal, carb valves/seats plus I added a fuel filter just after the tank. I would post images if I could figure out how - advice sought in this regard or I can email pictures upon request. Colours are red/black/silver/grey. If zero is a wrecker and ten is still in the box (mint) this bike is probably an 8.5 or 9. Carb valves and seats need to be unstuck - new rubber is recommended because even that is original. Hi All, Can Anyone help?? I've been given a FZR 400. It's a 1985/86 model frame number is 46X then the rest of it. I'm not sure which exact model it is. However, it has a fuel problem,,,,,,NO FUEL PUMP!!! So, I've ordered one via Ebay for a 1WG model. I suppose any low pressure pump will do. Anyway, I can't find where it should plug in, and also the tank sender, where that should plug in. I need a service manual for it!!! Any ideas????? I don't know what spec the bike is, European, American, etc.(I have a feeling it is European spec.) The tank is all steel. Hi all, my son has got a 1986 DT 50 MX. He was out for a spin when the engine started loosing power and died on him, he noticed that he had no 2 stroke oil left in the tank(numpty) and pushed the bike home. I have had a look at it topped up with oil, bled it through but the bike wont start. Looking on futher got a good spark from the plug but after kicking for a while there seems to be no fuel going to the engine. I have stripped the carb and reassembled it. No blockages and fuel runs into it ok. Tried to bump it and still the plug is dry. Any help would be great. Thanks Dave. Yes he is a plonker.

A jap import which shares many parts with FZ600 1986-1989. It was taken off the road last year due to a duff starter motor. This was rebuilt and fitted, but that is as far as it got. I have robbed a few parts for my 600 so it not really viable to put it back on the road. I also have a spare FZ600 engine. Regards Mark.

Hey there, I'm new to this site so please forgive me if I screw up this posting. I have just purchased a 1986 radian with aprox 27,000 miles on it, it runs great and pulls hard but it has a knocking sound coming from the engine when at idle when cold. once it warms up and is at proper idle speed the knock goes away. You can aslo make the sound go away when cold if you give it just a little gas to bring the idle up. Does anybody have any ideas about the cause of this noise, I was thinking maybe timing chain slap or maybe low oil pressure, although the oil light does not come on? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I recently purchased a 1986 radian with no carbs, I have been looking everywhere and cannot seem to find them. Are there any places I could possibly have an easier time finding them, or are there any other compatible carbs for this bike? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I have bought a Yamaha DT50 MX but it needs a new barrel and piston, the bike in in great condition otherwise, completely original so I have decided it is worth doing, the problem is that the engine is from a Yamaha RX50, and as im sure you know are rare, so you cant get parts for them and you cant get the engines, does anyone on here have any suggestions as to what I could do and what my options are getting this bike back on the road? I am new to this so I don't know what options I have, I have considered a replacement engine but not sure what fits the frame, or any barrels and pistons that would fit the RX50 engine? either 50 or 80 cc. I just bought a new bike and its just pissing oil. I want to get a better look and remove the tank. The service manual says turn the fuel cock to on before removing everything. It also says to start the engine and get it warm and doesn't say to turn the engine off. I'm worried about leaking fuel everywhere. Is it simply removing the fuel pipe, vacuum pipe and breather pipe then taking the bolt out and popping the tank off? Do I really leave the fuel cock to ON and disconnect stuff?

hi guys, looking a bit of help here, i have a 1987 yamaha fz 600 air cooled bike, seems that the piston rings have give way on me as its spurting out oil through the crankcase breather pipe, would anybody be able to tell me what other engine would fit into this frame, ive been told a 1000 exup engine would fit, just looking to see if amy others would also, any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Hi guys, I've suddenly got no headlight nor speedo backlight, though the sidelight works just fine. I've replaced the fuse and installed a new bulb, with no luck. Is there a headlight relay? I've traced the wires back to a relay behind the rh sidepanel, but all the exploded diagrams I can find say that this is the side-stand relay(!) Help!
