Hi Anybody on this forum who know if the two types of engines have the same motor mounts, physical dimensions the same? Would it be possible to swap in a rd 350 ypvs in a tdr 250? Thanks Ernst

Took a little trip around town and some back country roads here and then stopped at the beach for a couple photos... I'm getting excited about the approaching riding season seeing as how it's going to be my first full season ever!! Can't wait to feel some WARM weather though! Ice and snow is still abundant...but the roads were fairly clear at least. Sand and salt everywhere but I already feel so much more confident after reading that Twist II book that it's like a night and day difference from when I started riding last year. Gratuitous photos attached!

Hey guys n gals, Just got my first moto :-) A Second hand Yamaha Enticer, don't know anyone else thats got one in UK. Was wondering if anyone had any feedback on this bike. I've read some stuff, but all from India. Guess thats fine since the bike was aimed at the Indian market. I'm soon to be doing my CBT and my bike knowledge is retty limited, so need some reassurance that this was a good choice for my first moto :-) ?? cheers MIG

Once again showing his passion for motorsports, Eric de Seynes entered the 2017 edition of the event with Yamaha's new YXZ1000R SS SE side-by-side machine and alongside eight time Dakar Rally finisher Camelia Liparoti. Getting a first taste of rally competition with his participation in 2016, Eric de Seynes returned to Sardinia better prepared and with higher expectations for 2017. Kicking things off with a short Prologue in the city of San Teodoro, this 10th edition of the Sardinia Rally sees all competitors race a total of 1,320 km over six days, across the island of Sardinia. Getting off to a steady start during the short Prologue, the duo entered Sunday's stage o…

Ok, so this is a long shot, seeing as how rare BT1100's seem to be in our fair land, but, mine has developed a rather annoying fault and I wondered if anyone else has experienced anything similar. As I'm riding, especially as I accelerate, the oil and fuel warning lights come on briefly followed by the pre-start needle sweep of the speedo and tacho. There's no effect on the engine or lights, everything seems to be fine, I've checked oil levels etc, spot on......! What's going on? My old faithful seems to be possessed by evil electrical demons, maybe an exorcism will sort it, but more likely a component replacement, if only I knew where to look.

Went off into the middle of nowhere....heading towards Maria via Orce. The sky was blue....temps in the mid 30's.....and the roads (as always) were clear! It's about 40 miles to get there.....and wilderness wherever you look! This is not the type of place to break down, especially in this heat! However, when you ride a Yamaha you don't need to concern yourself with things like that! The town of Orce is halfway to Maria, so I parked up on a hill overlooking the town! It was hot! And here's some views overlooking the town..... Then down to Maria, a couple of minutes to cool down....and off I …

I have just been reading about ETHANOL fuel additives and the fact that we will soon have 10% instead of 5% in the UK, what seems to be the main consensus to all of this is that most old bikes (10 years old and older) will have some problems with this new fuel, my bike is 30+ years old and will need some major fettling to get used to this nasty gunk. First seems to be any bike with a fibre glass tank must use some of the new tank sealer now available, some of you might have already sealed your tank but if you have used anything from the last 5 years it will not protect your tank with this new stuff as it eats away even some older tank sealant then starts on the tank itsel…

Interesting chat in the works canteen today. After solving the problems of politicians taking the "chums" around the world at taxpayer expense (dont these people ever learn) pretending to be working for the nation, topic switched to ethanol in petrol. One chap was at stafford at the weekend, a number of people commenting that older bikes with brass components in the fuel system finding those components rotting away, allegedly due to the ethanol content. I am led to believe that the % content in petrol is destined to increase as govts strive to further cut emissions, so if true, the problems may get worse Do the petrol companines all put the same % content in their…

Ok now the bike has been successfully run in now and had its first service. it now runs lovely and smooth. What a dream of a motorcycle to ride. My only `niggle` is the gears. The bike dosent seem to need all of them, going from 1st to 2nd its like just pulling in the clutch in first gear and letting it out in 1st gear, no difference.....lol. Anyway i have been told that thats the way the fz2 60 is anyway. It still sounds `cluncky` in the gears but again been tolsd thats what the bike does. So now setting my sights on taking it into Europe on a `jaunt`......lol, (got to make most of the free european breakdown that came with it)...lol, so anyone out there done this t…

An epic battle that I had with Phil McCallen at the Macau GP in 1995. I'm really chuffed to be included in the Eurosport 'Best Battles - Bikes' - it's a bit humbling really, there are some top doers being featured - anyway our race is Boxing Day 7pm British Eurosport. Me and Phil on GP500s - what a race... Bloke.

Hey y'all I bought an old 79 Yamaha IT 250. It was in running condition (albeit poor) out the back of the tail pipe oil would drip out and the acceleration was gutless. The previous owner suggested maybe it was from an incorrect oil/fuel ratio. No big deal. I got it home and started to go to work on the carb, thinking that it was just an overly rich fuel mixture I looked at the needle jet position... it was adjusted to the next lean setting. So I moved the adjustment to the leanest position and fired it up. the problem persisted, oil coming out of the tailpipe and no balls. When I tried to tune the carb's throttle adjustment, the engine run away from me. I knew th…
