Hi I have an FZR 400 1988 it has been of the road for a number of years and now my daughter wants to ride it as I put another bike through MOT on monday and was told the plate was to small even though it passed the last 3 tests I though I would make sure that the 400 plate was the legal size which I was told is 9" x 7" but I find that it sits in a holder on the back mudguard that is only 9" x 6" Can any one tell me if that was the size when the bike was made or maybe I have an import But the problem is that the extra inch will take it over the reflector which will also cause a fail and I do not want to cut and modify the rear unless I realy have to Thanks Gerald

I am looking to buy my first sport bike, and I have noticed that all the 600 series bikes from Honda, Suzuki, and such are around $13,000 CAN. But the Yamaha 600 series bikes are more around $9,000 CAN, and the 1000 series Yamaha bikes are around the same price as a 600 series Honda, or Suzuki. Why is this? Also, what should I be looking for in a bike? Should the low prices of Yamaha bikes worry me? Thanks in advance for any responses.

Evening folks! Just thought i'd pop up a post and introduce myself. I'm new to the bike scene and have recently acquired an XS250 US Custom through a colleague at work. It has been sitting in his garage for over 10 years and he decided it was time to have a clear out. real piss£d off, got knocked off today; riding round the roundabout underneath of J25 of the M5 at taunton this afternoon, in the middle lane doing maybe 25-30, when a car sat in a queue in the lefthand lane pulled straightout and into the side of my bike (the tdm850) and me. Initially my leg and foot get crushed between the car and my bike, then the bike topples over and i hit the deck. momentarily pass out and then jump out of the way of the lorry that was behind me as clearly stopping at the scene of accident is too much for him. Car seems to drive off, i think he had second thoughts when he saw a biker waiting for recovery (it turns out also from brizzle) and …

Ok this is going to sound letcherous but i dont care, this morning at work, 6 degrees according to the truck what do i see at the traffic lights. A delightfull young lady on a DT. What do i really see. A 17 yr old with a fine bust and nipples like scammel starter buttons (she was wearing a thin sweatshirt type off the shoulder thing and jeans) she was VERY obviously cold. No coat, no gloves, slip on deck shoes it made some of my old scars hurt just looking at her. She was pretty tho.

Hello all, might sound stupid to a lot you out there, but i'm having trouble knowing what gear i'm in. I drive a dragstar 650 '89 (my first bike, never driven one before!), and i'm constantly trying to remember what gear i'm in. don't seem to hear it... so lots of time, i just go up to 5th, then come down to whatever i need to be in. I saw these gear indicators on the web, but that seems to be only for bikes with electronic speed indicator. Any advice? thanks

Hi everyone Im new here. I have a cbt and am looking for a 125 motorbike to practice on. I am interested in getting a dt but the problem is that I am not sure if I am tall enough for it since I am 5'7. Can anyone shed some light about this and if I would tall enough for one.

Hello All!! I just bought my second bike at the age of 60 so I'm learning everthing anew. I'm also a complete computer luddite so apologies in advance for delayed replies as I've had these typing fingers for sixty years and I can't do a thing with them! By the by, are you all Brits here? I think I qualify, as the first time I "rode" a motorbike was sitting on the gastank of my grandfather's BSA in Fermangh,NI in the 1950's. Very fond memories,indeed. I don't quite understand how a group of Brit gearheads can be so witty- I'm constantly laughing at the repartee. All the best, and apologies for my Trimph riding brother in New York!!
