yamaha dt 50 pulling problems
might be a fuelling problem? Check fuel flowrate to carb, how does pulling the choke on affect it?

Difference between DT175MX & DT175F? Both same year model '79/'80
On the left side of the engine there is a rotor with strong magnets attached. Behind this there is a base plate with source coils and pulse coils attached, as the magnets pass the coils...voltages are induced and these voltages go to charge up the capacitor in the cdi and also to trigger the cdi to discharge its capacitor (cdi = capacitor discharge ignition) to the ignition coil under the fuel tank. This system does not require any battery power at all, it will run without the battery but I'm not suggesting you do that because the battery is needed for many other things

your bike has got magneto / cdi ignition fella, I sent you a PM of a parts list for this bike. Really there isnt any difference between yours and mine, as I know of.

Yamaha DT175 question with photos of my bike.
For posting photos you'll have to open a photobucket account upload your photos there then copy and paste the IMG tag to your posts here. Your bike is a DT175F 1979, they are the same as DT175MX but the MX wasnt id used in every country, for example USA had 175E, F, G and so on, must be the same for Greece

Chain break, now engine won't start
sometimes the pilot screw adjust fuel not air and the result is they work opposite ie...air screw clockwise to richen Fuel screw anti clockwise to richen air mixture scews are often found on the airbox side of the throttle slide and vice versa for fuel mixture screws

Chain break, now engine won't start
study your manual, look for the specs and be clear how you're going to take measurements I'd get the battery charged up too and if it's not in good nick that may or may not make a difference...It doesnt on my DT, that will run without a battery fitted because it's a magneto ignition
-
Chain break, now engine won't start
No you cannot check the cdi without specialist equipment, for the home mechanic yamaha suggest you check everything else first. They give a list of specifications for the resistance values of the magneto and HT coils and youre supposed to check these are within spec before laying out £££'s on cdi's

Dtr125 trouble (HELP)
yeah it's because the pv is pinned wide open, try coming up with a method of locking it a little less open for better low speed performance, thats about all you can do with it

DT in distress part 3!
Paint it, save a fortune " Im ringing around looking for quotes to powdercoat the frame near Wolverhampton, i was just going to rattle can it but considering im probably going to keep this little bike until i am old and crusty it makes more sense to get it all done right from the start and not have to worry about it." Eh, not a valid argument, you'll only use it rarely and the rest of it's cosseted life will no doubt be indoors, anyway rattle can done well is more durable than you give credit for and hey not to mention job satisfaction
