Picture 1 Picture 2 Picture 3 Picture 4 Picture 5 Pic 1= the problem, pic 2 = part of the answer, pic 3 = the result, pic 4 = the result after the silly plastic gubbins (the bit that makes it a spot blaster) was removed, Pic 5 = The finished article... You can use dried sand as a blasting medium, I do not recommend the use of the shed though, far better to fit a seat in there and install electric supply so your lovely wife can watch you at work outside while she is fully protected and making you brews from the safety of being inside... ...

Might be worth shorting out the side stand switch if it has one, just to eliminate problems there.
  9. Sorry mate I dunno, if older school than that...Just...aircooled ones, but if it sounds good and the coolant looks clean, do an oil change and all the usual stuff like battery and chain adjusting / cleaning and lubing...its a DT so should be pretty solid... ...Paul

This is a bit off topic speedo now but try this get a stout piece of tube like a scaffold pole piece or summat, now place the tube end around the swing arm pivot bolt head (protect your frame paintwork with something) and rest the other end against something solid like a wall, lean the bike into the wall to keep it in place, you may need a helper. Now as you strike the bolt head (leave the nut on at first, just loosen it) the frame will NOT flex now and your efforts will likely be rewarded...give it a try...it worked for me...

Dunno mate, never had one but I know from what ive read that they are not fast, they are not supposed to be fast bikes, take it easy or get a DT125X if you want fast... I would guesstimate about 60 myself.

  20. It runs fine without it and youve cleaned and oiled it, it must be too oily, place it between newspaper and squeeze it to remove excess oil, replenish with new papers, dont wring it...be gentle, should be ok after that...
  21. What type of filter is it? is it the corrugated paper type? if so try blowing it clean with compressed air, or replace it!

Nice find you got there and what a bargain, those thing fetch good money here. I'm intrigued by your use of the term vac hose, there isnt a single pipe on that bike that is a vac hose. There should be tube from the oil tank to the oil pump at the front right of the engine, also another tube exits the pump and goes to the carb spigot A black rubber tube from the fuel tap to the carb. The gearbox breather tucks away down between the back of the engine and the swing arm pivot The carb breather and also carb overflow tubes also likewise the above That just about covers it if the oil tank is empty and you are using the oil pump be sure to remove the bleed screw when you fill the tank until the bubbles stop, then hold the pulley fully open for a while as the engine idles, this will get oil to the carb quickly, I suggest using clear tube from oil pump to carb so that you can see that oil is there. ...Paul
  23. Not so, its a copper gasket so heat it with a blowlamp, (anneal it), then re-use it, I have done this many times without any problems.
