  1. dont rush into fitting a new clutch just because the plates have stuck together through lack of use, get the engine hot then stop it, then select top gear and pull the clutch lever in, rock the bike back and forth perhaps with some help. If you are lucky it may free off.
  2. sounds about right if it's in good fettle, dont forget they werent high powered and being a 'Trail' bike the arent very aerodynamic
  3. Greetings iktome, post up a pic when you get the old DT
  4. I dont like the sound of no frame # how can you put it on the road without one?
  5. Airhead replied to DirtyDT's topic in General
yeah its crap!!!!!! makes the old brown ones and even the green ones seem a thing of beauty, and it is merely printed off on the cheapest budget paper the tester can get....rubbish
  6. Good one nathan, sounds a great bike you cant go wrong with classics post up a
  7. NO! you could try a bigger pilot jet the next size up, the size is stamped on the jet
  8. which screw did you try? I didnt say the idle AKA 'throttle stop' screw...I said the air mixture screw, its a small one and may be recessed somewhere on the filter side of the carb slide
  9. try turning in (clockwise) the air mixture screw 1/4 of a turn and test again, if same repeat. If you cant sort it before the screw gentlly seats you might have to fit a bigger pilot jet to the one fitted now. This assuming you have no air leaks anywhere!

  16. I just sold some like that for £15.00...perhaps my buyer made a killing They look good on your bike
  17. They are mainly interested in modifications that affect the performance of the bike, give them a ring and discuss. I am insured with carole nash and have a non standard exhaust heated grips, hugger, rear led light etc etc....i have spoken to them and they arent really interested provided the exhaust is road legal and it doent change performance...
  18. you take the left hand cover off, no need to drain oil put the bike in 3rd gear, then take a hold of the magneto and see if it has come loose by twisting it back and forth ideally you will use a proper puller and draw it off for a visual check of the key
  19. another easy check is to remove the reed cages and inspect the petals, they should be perfactly flat and you shouldnt be able to suck air through them
  20. lol http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-18490459?ref=nf
