  1. Think u"ll FIND ITS A 400 C . because uk .only had them imported 1 year. 1976/77 . R reg is the last of DT400 TWINSHOCK , Replaced with the 400MX. S reg i have never seen a S reg twinshock , but i stand to be corrected

  4. Typical Drew-p ur a spoilt bugger Well av just removed the Muffler " and poured about quarter o" a cup of waater oot on to floor ,, now if thats just how internal corrosion starts if un checked ,,,
  5. Now then " i see u lot down there been gettin it cold lately.. well with the rise in temp , you"d better check in them sheds&garages[ for those who store bikes for winter]. Coz we had a cold spell like that in december, and the bikes in shed were running wi condensation after it warmed up . with the steel still being freezn and air being warm [ now yanks no laughing] 8 degrees.. better dry them forks and discs etc.

AHEM The picture of the orange coloured DT is a 1976 DT400B in non standard Portuguese Orange which was only available on the 250 version… However, saying that the Orange on DT 250 is a stunning colour and is without doubt my favourite This would be that DT400 IN DT250 Attire..[ note the fork bottoms have the bracket holes for the low chrome fender] And the rear indicators are short stem"d [ am not being picky is gorgeous]

Missed the summer You will be surprised how scarse the DT400 [Twinshock ] is .... most "here" [uK] have been butchered [field-biked] Take alook at this . it is forum member Chrisp" He got on ebay last year ...... The tank colour is [was] off the DT 125. FOR THE CONNISEURS of the DTs.

THE QUEST CONTINUES """ Hi there JDS ,, " My " well u couldnt have picked a scarser model to look for . twinshock that is ; Lets start with the front mudgaurd [ low chrome] not on the DT400 . They all had high mounted fender . Colour- UK/Europe >Black/white. introduced 1976.[for one year only] MX In 1977. thats why theyre rare. Colour - USA./OZZ >Yellow/black/white. 1974 -1977 DT400B/C. UK DT250. Same colour as USA 400 . but had the low fender in chrome. [this be the one u remember] DT400s All had C.D.I. ignition. DT250s points .[early 250MX Also] Now i will get some pics posted [ just been spanked fae O.G.O.A.B] Rather it was goff . i have lots of pics on computer just have to paste them .. i stand to be corrected on usa years [ twinshock]

  13. Yeh and i always tank-mix the first tank full after a re-build ... just in case theres a air lock in pump.. [i KNO IT Shudn"t if bled properly] but its for pease of mind ,,,, and nowt worse than all that work wasted wi a Seizure

  16. WHAT SUPERSTARS U+ [ O.G.OA.B.] ARE...... It was indeed the primary gear [slipping on shaft] There is no key[way] just a taper shaft .. had slipped " Gona get the graphite paste on shaft [seat it properly] than tighten the 32mm nut .. Musta been some torque in that kickback to slacken it ----- By the way theres a CLASSIC SCRAMBLE [ TWINSHOCK AT LOCHSIDE FARM TMORROW] just off A90 /forfar .nrthbound. past Mcdonalds . 500yrds // for any of u vintage bikers up north..11AM. STRT. i"LL BE MARSHALL SINCE HUSKYS on the operating table
  17. Aye is all hapnin tday.. Like malta tkkr. kicked the husky 430 few times the day .. misfired [kickbacked ] big time then no compression. whipped of head ... then wen turning over "" piston go-in up & down--- put fingers on top o piston "" canstop it and still turn the clutch housing and crank gear,,, Barrel off --- can lift piston up down and crank gear [ clutch basket etc,] turns ,, but if i grab clutch . lack o" drive ... summat stripped or at worst crankshaft...???
  18. Not so simple ,, [250] bore/stroke70x64---[400] 85x70... DT400 has longer stroke . so conrod wud need shifted... so its a stripdown if thats the route . also . think DT400 timing is slightly diffirnt. CDI. changing as well . and thier like hens teeth....

  20. ,he filled in all the ports with some resign and completly changed there shapes....It easerly Pissed all over all 50's 100's Fun times, limited restrictions....
