Funny enuff " i just bought a gerry can of Shell V-power, and some leaked in the back of rover, have you ever smelt it ? its nowt like petrol, its more like a chemical factory[ Glaxo near here] so i"v filled all the bikes,,and mix for chainsaws,, as i knew it didn"t have ethonol in it,,, went into garage to-night ,, and that smell is in there now,, took ts250 along the drive and back , it did feel spritely, I know 2 strokes run cooler on higher octane fuels,, so time will tell, As for ethinol,,, lookee here.

Sounds like the slide is jammed open,,,,take it out again, or the rubber washer on carb top is missing...to remove pilot jet carb will need removed anyway, a good slotted screwdriver is needed to remove it, as its up a long passage, Wild Foamy will have manual,,, ---Air screw will be 1.5 turns out,, -

Yip, when first started = choke jet " then it needs the pilot jet to idle and rev thru the first 1/8 of throttle, then as air speed builds up draws fuel thru main jet ,,,, so get that PILOT jet cleaned, oh i take its got a good flow of gas,[ petcock clear] -
Aye triple" you can get forms " vehicle made from Classic parts" this will get you awa from the Q plate, , inspection will be called for,

Has the float bowls got fuel in them? ,,, beast pull them off , take carbs off and clean pilots etc,,

Bloody ell cynic" that good compression.. Well i got grouched big time,, Zl900 was on ebay,,, sold to guy from Manchester, he came up today,,, its M.o.t -ed. Runnig great all week , idled for 5 mins ,, he takes it for a ride,, i hears it spluttering,,, brings it back - on 3 cylnders,,,fuel pissing out , . so bang goes the sale fuckin four stokes,,,and bang goes my Fazer1000...

Aye jimmy" get a electic fence transformer[ sheep fence] screw two long fixings thru door bolt, [ so they protrude inside door] then clip on the terminals of the transformer, [ low setting] leave on all night,,

I bet the selector fork is badly worn or bent, or 2nd gear [ spinning gear] will be needing shimmed, it will have too much side movement, [5mm is too much] as you try to select 2nd" the spinning gear will move away from the driven gear, resulting in a false neutral. also the if bearings on the shafts are worn , this allows side movement also... all them "mm" add up to poor gear selection,,
