FZ6 Fazer
The fazer is there to be used and I know loads of people who've racked up high mileage through commuting and touring. There are plenty of 40k + fazers out there still going strong. If you get the older model with crap headlights then all you need to do is this simple headlight mod Corrosion wise the bike will be fine as long as you look after it. Service the brakes before winter and grease the bolts so that they don't completely seize up. People do use them all year round and, as with most bikes, regular maintenance really pays off in the long term.

I'm going to be on TV
Well I had a cracking couple of days. The weather wasn't so good so I didn't really get a chance to properly try the bikes out. Also you can't go too fast when you're following a car with a camera crew in the back! Bike #1 Bike #2 Bike #3 As you can see the bikes are really a little high for me but it didn't matter that much for a bit of messing around. The camera man from the back of the car actually mentioned that I looked fairly small on the bikes. There's some more piccies from my day here. And just to please you men there's some nice fran piccies here

I'm going to be on TV
I'll bear that in mind unmutual, but the thing is I'll be in my leathers and wearing so many layers to keep warm that I don't know that I'll be able to. Sorry to disapoint. I think the weathers not going to be too bad for tomorrow either, I would not be looking forward to riding sports bikes in torrential rain. Even my fazer's a bit skitish up hartside in the wet.

I'm going to be on TV
Well she told my mate who was filming last week that she was wearing a black g string (I think the conversation went downhill from there) so apparantly she's not the shy retiring type. I'm getting a bit nervous about tomorrow now. Fingers crossed I don't make a silly mistake and remember to take the bike off the sidestand before I start it.

I'm going to be on TV
I think they say it'll be on at some time in the next month, but they put a list here who's going to be on the next few programmes. I'm getting so excited already. I get to ride someone else's bikes and be on TV and talk about bikes. Of course if I was a boy I'd appreciate the presenter who's apparantly a bit of a babe. Don't see the attraction myself like.

I'm going to be on TV
Well my list for Thursday and Friday is: R6 ZX6 CBR600 So if you're around Blackburn and the Rockets Centre then just be careful on the roads OK? You have been warned. Quite a nice little selection actually and it'll be nice to try something a bit sportier. How much fun am I going to have?

Dropped bike guide
Whilst browsing on the internet for bikes suitable for girls I came across this tip. It's the first technique I've seen for short and petite people that could actually work so I thought I'd share it with you as I'm probably not the only one to have struggled at some point.

I'm going to be on TV
I'm 5'4" and weigh 8 stone, I've stood next to a varadero comparing for seat height and it's way too heavy and tall for me. I can't even get the fazer thou off the side stand.

I'm going to be on TV
I have to give them a list of loads of bikes and they'll see which ones they can get. So far I have Firestorm R6 CBR600 GSXR 600/750 Monster V-strom SV 650/1000 ZX6r Z750 The guys from the fazer owners club are daring me to ask for a harley and slate it. I can't actually get the fazer thou off the side stand so it's kind of annoying I can't literally just chose anything at all I want. My mate is filming this week with a GSXR 750, Firestorm and an SP1. I know this is a fantastic oppotunity for me to try loads of bikes, but I'm a bit gutted that I'm so bloody short! I thought just for badness I might ask for a goldwing or a KTM!

I'm going to be on TV
A mate is filming this week for the Men and Motors Used Bike Heaven because someone dropped out last minute. Well the person for next Thursday and Friday has also dropped out so guess who's filling in. Yep it's me. :jump All I have to do now is decide which bikes I want to try out. Gosh life is full of decisions. :-k http://www.menandmotors.co.uk/whatson/prog...20Bike%20Heaven

Well that's a bit of a bummer. Hartside's the last of the weekenders. The first one I think next year is Settle which is around May time I think. Now that's meant to be a really good one so keep an eye out for the dates and make sure you're off. There are actually quite a few guys in the midlands area I think, have you had a look on the location map? Hang on I think a new guy just signed up from Telford. Do yourself an introduction of where you are and stuff, then keep an eye out in the events section. Things are slowing down a bit now with the weather but I'm sure there will still be a few more rides out. If you see a meet near you just turn up. I went to Matlock after being on the site only a few days and met a whole load of people. Rob G lives near Matlock and I think he's planning a Mystery Tour so that's a bigish one coming up. Apart from that there will no doubt be various last minute rides out planned when the weather decides to be nice. It's actually a really friendly board and everyone's there to basically meet people to go out for a ride, there's only a small percentage who people haven't actually met.

I'm quite original with my name, over there i'm fazerfemale. Well if hartside's a treck in a day (and you have the day off work) then stop over at the bunkhouse with the rest of them and go back on the sunday. Or stop over Friday night, or both. You know it makes sense. There's generally loads of ride out opportunities all around the country, don't know how often peoplel round your way go out but us NW peeps have been on a weekend run most weekends and a midweeker every 2-3 weeks. There's also all the weekends away, I did the forest of dean a few weeks ago, there's hartside next weekend, then there's settle in may and morcott in june or july. A few people do have the new bikes (a couple of the new nasty looking euro fazers) but most have the 03 reg or earlier, one girl even has a 400. Everyone's welcome along, a bandit a hornet and a vfr even turned up at the forest of dean weekend. :bgb

I wasn't sure if you'd noticed the date, guess I should pay attention to these things more. I usually just know when I've got to turn up to a meet and from then on I just follow the bike in front. So you got a fazer too? Hey you should come out with the foccers. It's quite funny at traffic lights when the light goes green and you just hear clunk, clunk, clunk. The gearbox sure is smooth.

Just realised I had a bit of a blonde moment and it's actually next weekend we're going up to Hartside not this weekend. I get easily confused and for some reason thought it was this weekend. This sunday it looks like us NW foccers are going to Wales. The NW posse are coming to mine for bacon butties and then aiming to arrive at the hartside cafe for 10. It'll be up and down up and down all day. Bazz I've basically been out a fair bit on the bike, done a couple of midweekers, and a weekend trip out most weekends, oh and a weekend away in the Forest of Dean. It's all good. My bike's a beauty isn't she. It's easy to find my bike in a carpark, just look for the crash bars and slightly curled round levers. Oh and I'll be the youngest looking female in the group of the fazers. One of our guys has a tuono (and is featured in Ride magazine) so look for fazers and the tractor!

Beezkneez if you're around Hartside next weekend look out for the foccers http://p196.ezboard.com/ffazerownersfrm4.s...icID=1577.topic there's a fazer weekend planned. I'm just up for the day with the other NW foccers so keep an eye out for this lovely looking bike

FZ6 Fazer - a begginer's bike?
Go with the fazer without any doubt. When I got mine I was chosing between the fazer, sv650 and hornet. I sat on the hornet and the seat felt like a bit of black cardboard, not comfy at all. Oh and you'll never be able to go on long runs out as you'll be forever at the petrol station. The fazer is a very good touring bike too. Loads of people have done loads of touring on the fazer, I'm planning a trip round spain next year on my little baby. If you (not someone from a magazine) actually notice a midrange problem then just change gear at a higher revs. Seriously there's a few little things that can be done to improve the bhp so don't fret about it being boring, you won't be disapointed.

Wurth Dry Chain Lube!
Do you live near abergavenny then? I was down near there at the weekend with about 30 other fazer owners. Fantastic weekend and great roads.

Yep good road, did it twice over the bank holiday weekend. But it's a dangerous one, I think it's best to take it very easy the first time, that road takes no prisoners.

Getting Ready For Winter Riding
I'm planning a respray over winter so the bike will be laid up for some of the time. Some guys I went out with on Monday have said that they still go up hartside in the snow so it looks like I'll have to find some decent thermals then.

FZ6 or Fazer
if you want a fully faired bike why not just by the lower fairing for the fazer, then you have an r6 engine in a bike you can go out for a full day and not be in pain at the end. your insurance is lower, you can use it to commute if you need to, and you've still got a fantastic bike for those twisties!!

They Don't Make'em Like They Used To!
well then you know that there are some comfy sensible usable bikes out there. still i wouldn't mind manufacturers remembering that us females also ride bikes as most things are too tall and too heavy for me.

They Don't Make'em Like They Used To!
My blokes friend has some overly tuned useless in town fantastic old racey green ugly ninja. When it was new it was fantastic and modern, I can't get it off the side stand it's so heavy. However I can stand an R1 upright so I guess some things are getting lighter. And if we're on about the lack of comfy usable bikes then can I introduce you to the fazer. I have no padding at all on my arse but never suffer from numb bum so I guess that it could be classed as comfy.
