  1. Possibly more than you'd want to pay, but comes with extras and look in good condition! Ebay link And coming from the UK..!
  2. It appears that they've defined them as a restricted item. Usually reserved for things like chemicals, batteries or weapons. Why they should do this for a pair of forks is beyond me. However, there are various mechanical items and vehicles that come under these restrictions, but again, I can't imagine why a pair of forks would. The important thing is, you appear to be getting your money back. Keep looking...
  3. I ride year round, and with all the weather we've been having lately they've been drowning the roads in salt, and with the lockdown, finding a jetwash open is near impossible! So, obviously the bike is taking a bit of a hammering. It doesn't help that it has a full fairing... After several slightly crap hand washes (I'm getting on and don't have a garage, so getting on my hands and knees in the freezing wet isn't easy or good lol), I've managed to find a jetwash and gave it a good 'low' pressure wash yesterday. I spent an hour messing around with it today, cleaned the chain, hand washed it, re-greased the chain and kickstand workings. Two questions: 1/ What else should I be doing? 2/ How do I polish up the aluminium bits (pegs, kick plates & rear calliper) which have suffered a bit from the salt. I assume they have a surface coating on them witch I don't want to take off unless there's no other option.
  4. Ok, so their appears to be only ONE option (same as the Thunderace). Original Part Number: 3GM2538119 Replacement Part Number: 3GM-25381-A0 There are 3 spacers (technically 4 (the rear brake calliper bracket is the 4th one)). Check out the pic I'm attaching, which spacer are you missing? And importantly, are the ones you DO have in the right order?
  5. If it's anything like a Thunderace, there should only be one option... I'll look into it when I get home tonight and let you know.
  6. Does it feel like it's lacking power, or does it feel like something is holding it back?
  7. Yeah, I was kinda worried about that...
  8. Aaah! The bike is the title! No wonder I couldn't see any info...
  9. That seems fair, maybe I was just looking for gadgets... lol
  10. Make? Model? Have you checked the valve seals? You might wanna introduce yourself first...
  11. It's probably the paint colour scheme code. There's several for my Thunderace (luckily, I know which one is mine! lol)
  12. I would get a full service from a different place, then take it to the original place and see what they try to screw you for..!
  13. 1/ Unless the two fork stanchions are connected by an equaliser, then yes, they should be the same. 2/ I think the error was that you took it to a cowboy for a service...
  14. I've been looking at this item: Smart Brake Module - Improve your visibility on motorcycle (safer-turn.com) Anyone got one? Is it any good? Do you think it's a good idea? Discuss...
  15. It SHOULD be a threaded hole, but just to be sure, I assume it's for your XV920r?
  16. Might wanna reword your title. I thought it was some sort of dating service for bikers! lol
  17. Welcome in! The answer you're looking for is: 42
  18. All fixed... Not sure when, but after a little smoke, the main fuse on the side of the starter relay had fried. Cleaned up the various terminals on the starter relay and replaced the fuse. It works, instantly... NO idea WHY the fuse has gone, so this may not be over, but for now, everything's good!
  19. Can anyone suggest a motorcycle electrician around Dewsbury? Preferably a mobile one cos I can't transport it...
  20. So, bit of a backstory first... I work in the steel industry which shuts down each year for two weeks over Christmas. I've commuted for two years on my Thunderace. It's never missed a beat and starts every time (except once when some joker flicked my kill-switch and I never noticed!). It lives outside (poor bike) cos I don't have a garage. This year I've obviously not done much long distance riding, so it's mostly been just the commuting. All has been well, but since we've been off for two weeks over Christmas and then after having been back for only a week, I did my back in and spent another week off work. So that's 3 weeks of pretty much zero riding. Half way through last week (the week I was off broken), I hobbled out and started the bike (just to make sure the snow and cold hadn't killed it (it lives under a waterproof cover though)). It started first time and I ran it up to temp and shut it down again (this was Thursday the 14th I believe). I went back to work on Monday the 18th, but since it was a bit manky and I was still a bit tight in the back department I took our lasses car (she was off for 2 days). So I never touched the bike till Wednesday the 20th. And now we get to the main problem... It didn't start!!! No lights, no turn over, not even the neutral light or the sound of the fuel pump ticking over. Assuming the battery had died in the cold, I attempted to bump start it down the rather steep hill I live on... Nothing, no apparent attempt at firing up (don't ask me about getting it back up the damn hill!!!)! So, now thinking the battery was trash AND my alternator might also be trash I stuck it on charge for at least 5 hours, but still nothing. So, I left it till today went to get a new battery on the assumption that if I put a new battery on and it fires up, the alternator is toast. But, when the nice man in Valley Batteries tested my battery, it tests as having charge..! He's put it on their chargers for me and I'll pick it up and give it another go tomorrow (Saturday), but if it's got at least SOME charge, it should at least run my lights even if it won't crank the engine... SO, AT LAST, here's the question: WTF is wrong with my bike??? lol Long story short, started fine one day, completely dead 6 days later, can't be water ingress cos it lives under a waterproof cover. Any ideas? I've checked all the fuses in the fusebox behind the battery compartment, is there another fusebox anywhere? Could a relay that could cause this if it went bad? Cheers for any help...
  21. I've been the pillion in a situation. Was at a friend of a friends at about age 15 and he offered to take me home on his RD350LC, but like most things, it had to be NOW! So there I am, climbing on the back whilst trying to zip my leather up and his girlfriend had kicked one peg up but not the other... So now I'm trying to zip my jacket up AND kick the peg down at the same time. Him, thinking I was on, takes off. I don't... Next thing I know, I'm laying on my back in the middle of the road and everyone comes to to see if I'm ok. I'm fine, just slightly confused about what happened. But this isn't the worst part! We thought he'd get to the end of the street and turn around for me, but we don't see him for the next 20mins... By the time he gets back, I've taken my helmet off and had a fag and a cuppa. And here he is and we walk out to meet him and he says: "I didn't realise you weren't on the back till I got to your house, so rode back slowly to see where I'd lost you. What happened?"!!! I was only 10 stone at the time and hadn't put all my weight on the bike when he took off. So he just never noticed the change in weight. He thought I was the best pillion ever!!!
  22. NOT a mechanic... Have you tested the bore to make sure it's round?
