  1. i couldn't even imagine what 3 foot of snow would do here sure would make for an interesting experience.
  2. Depending on work and distance i would love to tag along to an event or two. There are tons of great road in wales, trouble is i haven't really been out far on the tarmac in ages. One i remember for great views was between blaenau ffestiniog and Bangor. There is also a cafe on horseshoe pass that's pretty popular with bikers, but i've not been up there in years. http://www.ponderosacafe.co.uk/ Hopefully i'll get a chance to check it out the start of next week on the DR. I'll let you know.

Looks great, i especially like the grips! If the stock WR handlebars are anything like the XT ones, you made the right choice changing them!
  5. Get a mini one off ebay, you can stick one on your numberplate (just make sure it does NOT obstruct any of the numbers) i think you can get two off ebay for like £2.00. (only need to use one, but nice to have a spare) Job done That's what i used on both my bikes - got my XT through the MOT no problem. Ebay item number: 370936462249
  6. I understand exactly what you are saying DT50! and very much appreciate the reason behind this post Good on ya
  7. Just googled honda dominater - they look very similar and even closer specs! - how was it? Yeah i was shocked with the insurance quote- the husky is like £350 a year with only 3rd party cover. Does kind of look like a dakar bike, don't it! if you can get a pic- do share! I THINK the front wheel is 21 inch grouch!
  8. Thanks for clearing that one up noise
  9. I would certainly consider traveling the 100 odd miles (round trip) for a free service. Dunno how much you're earning, but at min wage that 80 quid is over 12 hours work - before tax! I would much rather hang around the shitest place for a few hours and travel about an hour each way then work for 12! food for thought?
  10. Thanks everyone! i know what you're saying about not wanting to use certain bikes through the winter. This bike set me back the grand total of £840 (40 more then my XT did). With 11 months MOT and i think 5 months tax. Also insurance is crazy cheap, £108 third party, fire and theft- at age 21.
  11. OOOPs my bad. lol Thanks for keeping an eye on me Katie What ever you do, DON'T OIL THE BRAKES.
  12. Can't wait. picking up on sunday!
  13. Very retro.... Built for purpose, nae looks it would seem. But then again, maybe it looked cutting edge back in the day? It's SLIGHTLY older then i am. i must say the looks are starting to grow on me the more i look at the pics though
  14. Best i ever did on my 125 in a day was about 120 Miles and that was.....painful! Really impressed sir!
  15. you know the weather is bad when you have to keep a pig on standby for food! In the UK we have about half an inch of snow and the whole place goes to shit hahahaha
  16. Won a bike on ebay. should be going to pick it up this weekend! Unfortunately not a yammy, AGAIN I love big singles, and kick starters (it would seem) So the bike is a 1990 Suzuki DR 650 RS. more of an adventure looking bike then the usual DR650. Main reason for another bike, is just the thought of taking my husky out on the gritted roads makes me want to cry, as does thinking about riding it a very far distance. Hopefully this should be just the ticket. What do you lot think? YES i know, it looks rather dated, but i'm not trying to look cool for the other bikers lol. i'll let the power rangers do their thing, and the big 1200 BMW riders do theirs. This seems like a pretty good all rounder? Also this bike has pillion pegs, which could come in very handy. lol Pretty sure my husky is more powerful but not really ideal for hour after hour on the tarmac. Really seems a waste of such a hardcore off-roader. Plus the 5 hour oil change intervals can get pretty annoying after a week of riding everyday.
  17. ACF50!!!! that's the name of the product.
  18. Firstly GOD DAMN. secondly as long as the chain only has a small amount of surface rust , just put some lube on it and go for a spin the movement of the chain should take most of the rust off. Make sure you never let the chain get to dry- this could cause all sorts of problems. spray all the parts that are likely to rust with some WD40 (there is another similar product that most people here swear by, but i can never remember the name) to prevent the water from getting to them. If you are riding the bike around when there has been grit on the road, make sure that you wash it as often as possible. This grit eats at cars and bikes. Also try and let the bike dry off a bit before putting the cover over it, otherwise the moisture just seems to stay under there forever. Of course this time of year it is damn near impossible to do, but if you get the chance maybe leave the cover off for a little while when its not raining to let the moisture out.
  19. I can fully appreciate that point BUT:
  20. Welcome to the YOC. SOO much info on here. start a topic in the correct section, i'm sure someone will tell you exactly what you need to know.
  21. YES!!! pisses me off so much. As long as mommy and daddy have the cash you can hammer a fucking sports car around. in all honesty you can't even compare a 1000CC car to a 125 bike, because on a 125 you might be able to hit 70. Most liter cars will get you damn near a ton. plus you can pack all you mates in there before you wrap it around a tree. at most a bike can hold two people...and in my experience most bikers don't take pillion passengers anyways! It's all about the moneys. Shall we try and get a huge biker rally through a busy city center to raise awareness. 10'000 bikes going about 10mph through a city center. do this as often a possible until changes are made hahahaha. You could bring a whole traffic network to a near standstill. But lets face it, turn out wont be huge as a fair amount of the people that have had their licenses for years couldn't give a fuck about the struggles of another generation - GO ON, prove me wrong
  22. Loved it, thanks for the link . I did see the bridge one from a few years ago, so glad they made another installment of this madness. As for the MOT kev, they said it was legal on the isle of man. Only let them do it for the TV show, i'm sure! My question is how the fuck did that guy in the side car get away with no helmet and a copper right behind him the whole way? .....IF i rode my bike without a helmet they'd throw the fucking book as me. ....unless you don't have to use a helmet like on a quad bike?
