    Betty bit me!!!

Ouch - with regards to both pics Noise and Airhead! No battle scars like that *yet* - just a put out back from lifting the Tiger up after that fateful December Cornish camping trip in the wind and rain, ha ha...
  2. There you go DDT, problem solved - warm night ahead for you!
  3. Yeah, fair enough, as long as it isn't the venue!! I will admit, nothing worse than getting cold during the night and not being able to warm up the next day. Oh, and as for your crimpers - I've a power socket on my bike you can borrow, ha ha!!
  4. Why's that DDT? Personal preference or anything negative about Squires? I've not camped there before you see so no idea what it's like. Noticed you can't bring your own camping stove etc which kinda sucks as I like to make a brew, ha ha! Absolutely nothing wrong with staying in a hotel, if you've found a few nearby?
  5. Very impressive skill there!
  6. I'm finding out whether I can get the Friday off work so I can camp this time. If so I'm down for Friday to Sunday. Alternatively I'll just be another day attendance on Saturday.
  7. Welcome, what a bargain! And DDT... No need for excuses from you! We already know your other half is putting everyone else's to shame!

    Then and Now

I had a quick look yesterday day and the earliest photo I could find of me on a bike was 2005... So hardly an old piccy!
  9. Not sure if you guys have seen this. I warn you in advance - they aren't on a Yammy, and it's a long read - but this is truly a story! http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=877576&highlight=Walkabout+Russia To hopefully tantalise you further, page 9 details where their bike falls over a cliff, but amazingly this doesn't end their trip.
  10. What can I say Blackhat - I just love riding! And Tommy... Tommy, Tommy, Tommy. Naughty man...!
  11. Wow - that looks so cool! Top job Drewps.
  12. I rather enjoyed it on the bike today, mind you it's dark when I leave so no need to worry about low sun. It wasn't too cold (good job really as for some reason I walked out the house with gear I'd normally wear in summer!) There was a strong wind (oi oi) over the Pennines which would have knocked me for six on the YBR, but with the Tiger I didn't have to take one of my "emergency side roads". And to top it off I had a nice chap on a moped pull up next to me at some red lights for a chat. Always nice to spread the biker love, regardless of what you ride. Roads weren't too saturated, managed to miss the worst of the rain during both legs of the trip, but alas my clean bike is now dirty again, ha ha!!
  13. It's the scene after that - shiny new bike, pannier smacked off by bollard, water.
  14. No it's not good. I'm down at my parents at the moment where roads are close due to flooding. Left this morning on the bike, in the rain. Luckily the weather cleared up and it's been quite a nice day, but the roads were terrible - flood signs everywhere, debris and potholes galore.

    Few upgrades

Agreed - suits the bike much better, especially with the blue frame!

    Fly screens

Very personal opinions are screens. Also, that works for one, may not work for you. Things like your height etc make a difference between riders. Also, I think so,e rider have different expectations. Some want completely still air, others want to be able to leave their visor up at a certain speed, etc etc... I was camping in summer and actually wanted to rip the screen off my Tiger because I wasn't getting any air flow. Alas - not the right tools under the seat so I stuck with it. Lesson learnt and the tools are now under the seat. I won't hesitate to remove it on another hot day. In terms of crunching miles on the motorway, my screen is a blessing - helps to keep me warm and drier than without it so it stays on. Also stops any major fatigue on the arms / neck. That said though, I never felt the need to install one on my YBR and that was used on many a national speed limit road through winter, so plenty of cold air directed straight at me at relative speed but it wasn't a problem. Would I got back to a bike without a screen? Yes. I'd suggest having a good look around the net to research what screens work best for riders of your bike. Try and look out for any mention of their height etc so you can gauge effectiveness. Also, if your chummy with your local bike garage, they may let you sample one?
  17. Not really an interest of mine, however I watched it. The good point is that the mic is positioned well - seen a few vids like this where the rider voice is muffled. Sounds in places that you were trying to mimic Baron Von Grumble. I've seen a few of his videos (mainly due to his GSXR off-roading), but if you are going to "vlog", try not to imitate. You're pretty brave sharing your first name, reg plate, home, school, uni, place of work and name of the town in one easy video. Try not to give so much info away, you never know who is watching...! Other than that, take care out there and good luck with your test.
  18. Ha ha ha! Yes, of you read it like that it could be mis-interpreted all too easily... Well done Noise! Ha!
  19. In all fairness I'm happy with any location, Squires was perfectly fine last year so happy with that again! I know I didn't get to camp last year, so gutted about that - but I work as a Senior IT Consultant at an international law firm. For any of you who know lawyers - if they want you to work, you work. Unfortunately that's what happened... Assuming that doesn't happen again (and the weather isn't pants), I'll be camping! Otherwise a hotel sounds good DDT. Know it was my first time last year, but it was a good turn out, what a great bunch. I truly recommend it to anyone on here!! Let's make this years even bigger...
