Another incentive ! My insurance expires soon, interested to see if it's taken into account here in 'Norn Iron'.

How could you pass it up? Yeah Grouch, nothing to lose only a tank of fuel. It's a shame if it does cost a bomb. So much BS with new rules and regulations which, are supposed to make biking safer but only push the price of biking up. Yet, a free 90min bikesafe could achieve possibly more.

I think you're right about England, but yes, free in Norn Iron, just fill your tank. Complete the assessment and get a certificate, which apparantly reduces your insurance. And more!!! I was given a Bikesafe wooly hat.......

Did it today with 3 great cops from PSNI, down at H.G. Newry. Time very well spent on a freebie that money couldn't buy. They gave me a really good run despite the 'R' plates, (restricted to 45mph........lose 'em on the 6th Sept,Ye - ha!). I'd recommend Bikesafe to anyone that's not yet done it. Thank's to the Police service for this opportunity to gain an experience with such professional riders.

    XJ6N (Restricted) = 93mph M1 from Monaghan 0 - 60 = Apparently under 4 sec's 1 more year to un-restricted.

Hi and thanks for taking a look at this nonsense. I'm looking for a solution to support my exhaust on the YBR 125..... when I remove the hangers. Figured I don't need 'em, I don't take pillion.... lol. So, as I'm going to re-grease the swingarm pivot, I'll not replace them and see what it looks like. It would need to be supported from the swingarm up and across, the exhaust fixing bolt would need to go thru the support first, then attach to the exhaust as it has a threaded nut. I'd be grateful for any ideas, please.
  20. If you think you'll pass, do the test. New rules being applied all the time. Soon, you'll need to be 24 years old or, have experience on big bikes to be able to get one. About; £30 for theory and hazard awareness, ???? £s for lessons, £80 for module 1 + 2 and a few quid to upgrade license form provisional to full. Well worth it, what a blast riding a bigger machine!
  21. Hi Maz, An exciting day for you tomorrow...... not much sleep tonight tonight then! Getting a nice wee spell of good weather aswell, so you could get a good bit of riding in over the next.......??? I take pictures of my bike every time I change something, still quite a few to take! All the very best with it, and looking forward to seeing your pictures.

Hello Chris, Indeed a nice intro and welcome to the bike world. Always imagine other road users don't see you. Watch out for pedestrians and cyclists, you may not see them because you may be only looking for cars, vans, buses etc...... Keep real on your ability, as has been said on another forum; people who do stunts are only showing off. The purpose for riding a bike is to get to A to B in the safest way. For insurance, see if 'Open and Direct' can do anything for you, they are N.Irelands biggie, not sure if they do outsiders though. Safe journeys amigo!
  23. Many thanks Tony, you're absolutely right. Today I bought the Haynes manual and indeed it is 59Nm. Thanks again.
