Ok so the inner has to be shimed out from the basket with the other big washer#5 right? don't suppoes you forgot to put it in and the inner is sitting against the outer would be about the same thickness as a plate. After looking at the oil drive gear if it was in backwards then the shoulder wouldn't fit inthe back of the basket and hold the basket out further but that wouldn't matter as the distance from the back of the outer and the inner to the pressure plate would still be the same,so realy the only way to increace this space is to have the inner in too far. Or possibly it can fit in backwards the oil gear that is. Again got me let us know when you've sorted it out.
  2. Well it loks just like the one that got stole from the ride on e quad to fix the dt50 and it's been in there abiut 2 years without problems, well no problems for the first year and then the bike got sold to a friend who if anything were to go wrong would have called ,because when anything breaks he calls me. It's agm battery and they are getting popular, agm's tend to last longer that wet lead acid and can be run flat more times. The one in the dt50 is about 9-10 years old, mind the only thing it's doing is running lights now . What are you going to put it in?
  3. Lookin good, free thread locker thats a bonuse
  4. Nope kev it's the moon shiners who build these type of things,My buddy Mikey law( or ed as we call him) wanted a block for his top fuel bike kawak and up to the hills in tenneesse he went to get it the guy was casting them in his back yard,Litterly in the ground in his back yard exhaust out the back, super charger on the front NITRO FUEL and a grade 4 education. http://www.dragracecanada.com/hotzone/ind_0018.htm here is a pict of the bike about 10 years ago befor it was finnished,it could run 6's only get's out 1 or 2 times a year now Dan Butters the driver and Mike law don't realy bother with the thing unless someone will pay them to bring the bike out,,, cost about 5 grand to run it . Fuel alone cost close to 800 and the whole motor has to be striped down and rebuilt after every run/weekend even if it dont blow up

Got me then I have no ideas left, cant see how the oil pump drive gear could go in wrong ,unless because it's driven by the pin and you failed( oops unsuccessfuly attempted) to fit them together properly, but we all make mistakes sometimes I'm sure you will sort it out when you have time to look closer at it
  6. Ya dont bother taking the basket out just remove the bolt,as I said they are not under stress the bolt will just simply turn out if you can get something to grip it.It's been living in oil it's whole life so not going to be frozen from corrosion. try a smaller dril bit with your drill in reverse, most likely it will turn right out no hassel. DON"T make a simple job hard. Seems this past week we have had a rash of clutch bolt/ pressure plate install problems a old saying comes to mind " look before you leap" might fit this????
  7. You did the right thing even though the bastered deserved a good thrashing.Way to keep your head no need for kids to think all bikers are bad people. EDIT issn't it illeagle to talk on a phone while driving there it is here

Last bore is always sketchy now all that fancy tuning is out the window and your going to have to start over, at least you have all the stuff to do it now. Ice skating!!!

See that tea is no good for you should have gone for a beer LOL glad your in one piece, people think I'm some sort of ricky road racer cause I wear knee sliders but this is exactly why I wear them. The more crap between me and the road the better IMO. Sometimes they get used on purpose GUILTY and I do try to keep that type of riding for the track but some roads just call you

    Oy Drewpy

Thats what happens when you look where you don't want to go,with the back wheel locked up no way that person could still turn.Looks as they avoided the post though barely,, and a dam good thing the on comming was clear or they would have been a hood ornament. Jimmy I have been looking at rocket stoves but your supposed to cap the flame, what the hell you using for fuel c14,nitro??? Merv are you sure you don't have some red neck teneessee cousins, why not just turn a old washing machine into a bbq drill a few holes in the lid,a few old cars on the lawn and marry your sister/mother Just kidding not a bad make shift bbq IMO Jimmy I thought it was just a "unsuccesfull attempt" "don't worry you will do better next time little billy you can go to the next grade even though you as dumb as a post we wont FAIL you because it will hurt your self esteam

Me thinks you have the pressure plate on wrong rotate it 1 turn, see the thread about wr 400 no pressure
  13. Ok your not the first one in the past week to do that,, relax they come out easy.Might even come out with putting your finger on it and give it a turn ,or put your drill in reverse and push hard, they are not held under pressure unless the spring is on. And as airhead said next time just turn them in untill they stop, they can't come loose the spring pressure will hold them in .
  14. Have you seen this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHdIECkvWt8&feature=player_embedded
  15. LOL kev no one ever said pit's were the smartest dogs, but i don't get why they get such a bad rap for being mean killers,it's the owner's who make them bad dogs. Well tommy sounds like hes on the mend and should be good to go soon, did the insurance cover any of this?
  16. HAHAAHA I have seen/heard of this problem so many times but as blackhat said you should check it before you put the cover back on Some clutches need to be adjusted at the pressure plate first before the cable is adjusted not this one but lots of yams have a screw and nut in the centre of the pressure plate that you have to tighten and then back off 1/8 of a turn and lock the nut down to get proper free play That push rod is fine

Na tommy your right about some clutch kits do have 1 extra plate like a barrnet for example, though I don't think this is the problem. How lucky were you only 1 shim to have to buy,did you end up pulling the cams or did you find the tool? EDIT bet your glad you pulled it appart before riding it too far then with that primary nut being that loose it could havd been a short lived motor
  18. In 12 months you could have rebuilt the motor about 50 times, your right crank seal is shot. Now that i have answered your question who are you,a hello in the new members section would be nice
  19. Well DT ya can if you have proper thinners just a messy job, soak a rag in thinners and whipe it all off.I don't mess around with rattel can's I have a pro paint gun (devilibis gravity feed) so I have to mix the paint/hardner and thinner anyway and have the thinners on hand,I have painted the same part 2x in a hour.I'm not great with the gun yet but getting better everytime I use it my buddy Jimmy is a painter by trade and teaching me the tricks about mixing the paint, mix it to thin and runs evey time to thick and orange peel. But if you get a run sometime's you can spray it out to a edge and use a piece of tape to get it off, this is tricky to not make more runs not something a first time painter would get right. I won't paint anything important unless he's here to save me from myself yet, though I have painted some things for people like garden furniture with great success.I painted a friends truck and it turned out good considering we did it outside and a few buggs landed on the paint before it dried but he was happy. Anyway time for a ride good luck with you painting Mallory
  20. Same here Kev but I live in the country and no one follows that rule out here, unless there dog is a runner,Mine just goes and visits the neighbours dogs about a 1/4 mile down the road eats thier food plays with them chases the chickens around and comes back. or she goes to the other nieghbours ,about a 1/8 the other way, house a old couple live there and she gets fead from the wife, roast beef with gravy they like to see her they are to old tolook after a dog anymore and miss thier old dog.So it's not like she's not welcome neither neighbour minds her company.I take a case of homemade beerover to the neighbour 1/4 mile and drink a few with him or drop off a bag of food for the dogs so hes not paying to feed her.Sometimes her bowl at home dosn't need filling for days. And the old couple I give them fresh veggies from the garden. The only time animal control would ever come out here is if someone calls them, everone in town knows my dog ,it's a realy small town of 300 and would call me before calling control, but she only goes to town with me. As far as cleaning up after her she won't crap in the yard there is a feild/forest that noone ever goes in, behind me and she has a spot back there occasionaly she brings a rabbit home,I clean it , cook it and we share it
  21. ya air the pressure plate will only fit one way but can go on the wrong way, then it's held out from the plates and the push rod as if the cluth lever was pulled in thats why he has no pressure the plate isnt on the right way. I know from the last time I put my clutch back together I noticed that it only fits properly one way it's a simple fix should take less than 20 min don't bother draining the oil if you've refilled it allready just lay the bike on it's side in the grass.
  22. Ok rust in tank drain fuel out,get a bunch of screws and put them in the tank fill with a bit of water a shake the hell out of it in every direction up down side to side ect, remove the petcock and flush the tank untill no more rust comes out. Then get a sealer kit and reseal the tank to stop the rust from comming back andd causing problems again. Now get a bottle and make a way of hanging it from the handle bar and a longer hose to feed the carb, think like when people are in the hospital and have a iv drip, you know what I mean? you have seen people walking around with a pole on wheels a bag with medicen in and a hose to thier arm,and lets feed the carb gas that way.If the bike then runs you have found the problem either the petcock is pluged or the rubber washer inside has blocked the passage. Just thinking don't you have 2 of these bikes?
  23. Sorry for not getting back sooner the spring needs to be on the other side at the bottom as in picture 2all the new parts won't fix it untill you assemble it correctly ,pull the pressuer plate off and rotate it 1 position youve got it on wrong, when installed corectly it is seated against the last plate
  24. LMAO love the statement "Last painted the hall and living room but nothing as far as plastic seat cowls on a bike. Can anyone advise? Assume I'm an ejit and know next to nothing. Cheers" spray painting is not hard but you have to get a feel for it,not to dry and not to wet,put on a light coat and let it tack up then add another layer of covering type coat, then the finnal coat after the last has tacked up, this one is the one that will be smooth too much paint and you get runs not enough and you get a orange peel effect.Best part is if you make a mess of it just sand it off after it dries and start over Good luck.Or find the local kid who taggs the walls in the neighbouhood and get him to teach you
