  1. Surely the reg would be worth quite a bit of money?

Nice, look at all those shiny new bikes. Wonder how many are still on the road?

First thing I thought was what a waste of a bike but, it is his bike. It is a cool idea but, I would be worried about graverobbers stealing it

The XT 125 X/R's speedo's are notorious for being tempremental or just failing completely. In the end I just bought a TrailTech for mine and sacked the factory one. If yours has come back to life you might be lucky and it will last you, if not wait until it packs in again and replace it.
  5. No the curse has been lifted, it has gone back to where it came from

Yeah will be riding over to the next meet up.
  7. Any joy on sorting it?

Yeah it's only basic maintenance now, even I can change oil etc. I already have a tool kit, it just doesn't get used much.

I could of rode 50 miles and got it done for free but, I would of had to take the day of work and it wouldn't of been worth it. After everything I still saved hundred quid on the bike.

Finally my bike has had its first service. I can now ride normally without using a third of the throttle. Was a bit shocked at the cost but I went to a Yamaha dealer so I could get the warranty book stamped. With it being a brand new machine I'm not going to take any risks or cut corners. The bike is good now for at least another three thousand miles. Im really pleased with the engine. It has a lot of kick even on high revs it still continues to pull with ease.

    Your best bet is eBay
  12. Hi and welcome to the forum. You'll be very lucky to find a decent one for that money. The value of them is increasing all the time. For a decent one your looking at £1300+

Nakeds are targeted at the hard man hells angels types haha. I prefer faired machines, although I get nakeds they just look to raw. Faired machines are much sexier.

My book has come, had a quick flick through and it's very technical. Looks like I will be learning quite a lot from it and getting some questions answered that I have always had.

You should restore one to its full original state and then customise the other into a cafe racer.

What do you plan on doing with them?
  22. The lights on the YBR's are notoriously poor. A few people on here upgraded their bulbs and some even bought HID kits. Do a forum search to find the thread(s).

Benefits lol. The main benefit for me is the looks. I think they look a lot better than standard, especially being blue and having a bar pad. The technical benefit is they are made from top grade metal so they are very strong, therefore will not bend as easy if dropped.
  24. I know often dealers are worse than these back street cowboys. I just want the bike to have the official Yamaha stamp in its warranty book so I don't void my warranty and it will increase the sell on value of the bike when I sell it in a few years.
