  1. Obviously his self belief outweighed his skill. He got lucky to not get injured.
  2. That's good the Alzheimer's hasn't totally got me yet. I've always fancied an FZR400R a trick little bike.
  3. Did Yamaha ever manage to get larger carbs fitted to the FZ600 as the chassis was off a FZ400 weren't it and they were a tight fit so smaller carbs was fitted? I'm going back a bit so could be totally wrong.
  4. There's a blast from the past I havnt been to Wigan since the MZ/RS racing days. I liked the track myself but most didnt, as for this weekend I'll be at Newark.
  5. Welcome in Nik. Good luck with the YPVS.
  6. I never had a TX500 but have always liked them as for flushing I have done a few over the years without any problems however since its been standing for a while the seals could be knackered anyway. Apart from what you have already said, pull all the electrical connections and clean/lube too give your self a chance. Also the carbs would have seen better days. Good luck.

  8. You get several different mounts with the GoPro3 Black and I think one is a helmet strap also with the Black it comes with the remote as standard. I have a suction mount which is seriously strong however I use it on the bike not my helmet.
  9. Some people cannot take the realisation that they are Totally Stupid and when they know that they caused the problem they just lose it. Then they search for another reason for the problem however slim to blame. A friend of mine almost died due to drinking but he tells everyone that the gum drops he was eating caused his Pancras to stuff down. Now he's a friend but he is also the most Stupid person I know.

    air filter

Yes the jetting be totally different, also if you are not using the original airbox the tuned length will be shorter and effect the whole engines characteristics.
  11. LOL I'll send you a note for the missus saying that I gave it too you. ;-) Its the problem with smaller motors they tend to get revved to death.
  12. That's really bad luck.. but if you are going to repair it I would change all the valve springs as a matter of course.
  13. I think quite few bike have poor Co2 and would have worked out costly for some.
  14. Thats a useful site and reasonable too. Ta Drewpy.
  15. Rossi has been very constant this so far this year. He hasn't lost his setup skills. Aleix is riding like a demon it seems if you can ride the 600 on the edge it transfers to MotoGp.
  16. RD250 / RD400 are different there are a few differences however the main one is, The stroke on the 400 is longer so the crank needs more room ie. 400's are deeper. If you are looking for new cases there are more 250's about than 400's also they will be far cheaper.

    air filter

Assuming the filter is flowing more air the FI may need adjusting but some do this automatically but only within a small range, this only matters if a open exhaust system is fitted. There are a few cans on the market that claim there is no need to alter the fuelling.

Generally original. K&N are OK but costly.
  19. Its a nice feeling doing stuff yourself init!
  20. I agree, get the cases welded as long the numbers match quite a few RD's have been done this way. Going by the clocks I would say you have a D model but if its a 76? You fuel tank is knackered in my opinion LOL. Joking apart you should be able to get one at a reasonable price however the front mudguards are commanding heavy money due to Yamaha increasing prices. PS. I like your Honda.
  21. I use Granby's there stuff is generally always in stock and quick to dispatch.
  22. You buy a kit called POR15 it worked for me, it did the whole job de-rusting, cleaning & sealing.
  23. Well done nice buy Dirty.
  24. I used Yambits sealant last time and it works fine no leaks and its Silver in colour which is a bonus.
