  1. Jim I assume she's the pillion yes? Is the problem the low footpeg position ? if thats the case i wonder if theres any footpeg modifications, raise them up onto the frame/swinging arm I guess it will depend on what year the bike is..... Or is it she's perched up in the air and doesn't like it?............then add a sidecar!!
  2. You don't have to change your bike....you could change your partner for a long legged one!! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2252626/Worlds-tallest-teen-girl-towers-boyfriend-enjoy-romantic-walk-Brazilian-beach.html
  3. No idea Drewpy, never been there either! I was just letting Nursejim know he was in good company.
  4. Hi Jim ,another Welcome......... I've never been to Wrexham! However, I have just clocked up 35 years Nursing!
  5. Where did he go?
  6. It may be worth noting that car battey chargers and boosters are not designed for 12v motorbike batteries.
  7. Have you found the same relay (as your link) on YOUR bike and confirmed its running the indicators? Ie unplug the relay and see what effect it has on the indicators and that it has 4 pins! The reason i ask is I've done a search on ebay for ybr125 relay and I found there are white 4 pin ones which look identical to your replacement, but its not for the indicator......... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-YBR-125-CUSTOM-2010-Multi-Function-Relay-/291078877961?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item43c5a73309#ht_2186wt_966 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-YBR-125-57-STARTER-RELAY-3D9-00-ACA12115-M14-/251435929052?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item3a8abfcddc#ht_2340wt_758 This link shows both the 4 pin white one and a 2 pin indicator relay in the same photo http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-YBR-125-CUSTOM-JOB-LOT-RELAYS-SENSORS-ETC-TILT-FLASHER-YBR125-C-2012-/281057891475?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item41705b1493#ht_1297wt_758 and so does this link http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-YBR-125-2007-ERA-VARIOUS-RELAYS-/230953439326?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item35c5e5d05e#ht_44wt_723 Heres a link for a YBR125 2006 model, and its two pin http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-YBR-125-ED-2006-125-CC-Indicator-Relay-/390559761317?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item5aef2d03a5#ht_1396wt_966 You see I was wondering why an indicator relay would be 20watts........... Can you post a photo of both of them? I'm intrigued why there should be two!.......unless a previous owner has ADDED them! now theres a thought! Your replacement link has 4 pins so if you have two indentical relays you will have 8 pins. Can you confirm that if there are two and that ALL 8 pins are in use? or are they just using 2 of the 4 pins of each relay? Or have you not taken the plug off ?
  8. Thanks Welshwan, not sure why it didn't work for me Good job it wasn't a biker cam eh?
  9. Uploaded today! http://youtube/eLZjq2vxD3Q embedded ...but doesn't show here!.....must have done something wrong!
  10. and now its in the UK...........
  11. Bippo's right , however, looking the chain over and oiling it is no substitute for removal of the chain and inspection. A stiff link is just that and cannot be assessed by a good look over with the chain in situ, you need to take it off. You won't be able to tell with the chain on. Plus with the chain off you can run the motor and the bike won't go anywhere!! however, if its clicking away then the fault lies in the motor side, if all is ok then its the chain or rear wheel. A process of elimination. I had this very similar problem on a chain years ago , clicking on acceleration, it was a stiff link which with the chain off, holding the chain up on each link I discovered the two solid links which were the ones which didn't move.
  12. That sounds like a stiff link on the chain to me. You may find a pair of links which are rusted together, coasting (I assume you mean clutch in) disengages the chain. As the two chain links are seized they don't sit inside the teeth of the sprocket and 'ride' higher and clunk as they come off the sprocket. The faster you go the clicking gets more rapid. The same thing happens on a bicycle chain. My moneys on the chain, needs maintenance or replacement...
  13. Glad to hear you sorted it, Why don't you change the title of this thread, you can edit your own post to "YBR125 Indicator fault - solved" and perhaps you could mention where you located the main fuse on the bike for others benefit should they have a YBR125 with the same problem. Every little helps!
  14. Owners advice: Easily obtainable spares. Lots of used spares available. Lots of new genuine/ pattern parts available Some genuine parts are NOT available....but can be sourced from any combination of the above!! Perishable parts DON'T last forever! You will need to keep an eye on some of those, don't expect a 30 year old tyre to be reliable or trustworthy!! Cables need attention, chains wear if not maintained, Runs on petrol and oil, don't forget either! Easy to work on Reliable Can develop problems ALL easily solved with maintenance, attention and/or replacement Robust. lightweight, (can be an issue in gale force winds I won't ride mine in beaufort 8 plus) Good on and off road. Brakes work fine, no need to modify, you're NOT riding a rocket!! Electrics:- lights and running are all reliable however,light/battery can be modified to 12v (don't expect a light show though!) Engine: 2 stroke....need i say more? Has a good following on this website, lots of support. Bike gets dirty if you use it! Bike stays spotless if you don't Have I forgotten anything?
  15. Damm well hit a pot hole on the ride home last night!! took out my rear light bulb!!! saw the 'light go out' on the dashboard! Not to worry......turned on the emergency bicycle light LED and rode home! Put a new bulb in this morning and all working again. Nice to know it all works, not just in theory! I'm a happy chappy!
  16. Not that it will resolve the blowing of the bulbs, but this may be of some benefit to you a cheap effective means of monitoring the situation............. Plus when i had the same problem I also fitted a bicycle LED at the back as a "get me home solution" in case the bulb did blow again. I've actually used it for one night in 2013. Got me home 'legally' showing a red light at the back until i could put a new bulb in at home.
  17. To get at the bulb Blackhat offered you a solution in the 4th post.. Once the screw is undone either prise the rim as suggested or you may need to turn the headlamp anticlockwise by hand to 'unlock it'. It should become apparent once you've located the screw........
  18. Get a short length of wire, attach one end to the +ve battery terminal, hold the headlight bulb metal casing to the -ve terminal. then touch each of the bulb contacts with the wire end. The dip and beam filaments will glow with equal brightness, proving the bulb is OK. If both filaments are working then YOU know by elimination it is the circuit of the main beam which has the problem. A likely source of the problem is the electrical contacts within the light switch, which selects dip or beam. You see it is one power wire from the battery which is diverted to either the dip or beam filament within the switch. Dirty contacts within the switch prevent the current flowing, thats what Airhead is suggesting to you. Testing the bulb as above will confirm the bulb is in good order.
  19. Theres also a warning on the http://www.askmid.com/ website stating people getting contacted by them as part of a scam!
  20. Trouble is there's no clues to whats going on other than a high speed impact/ejection Was he/she wearing a belt in the first place? is this a belt failure or the result of no belt? Was this a passenger (front or rear) or driver? Clearly ejected from the vehicle, did they survive the mutliple injuries (you tend not to walk away from aerial flight at crash momentum!) Did anyone survive? An impressive/devastating crash video but videos like this always create unanswered questions. welcome to the world of the dashcam! Did anyone spot the meteor top right?.......no only kidding!
  21. ...................and we never did hear from him again! i was looking to see if Tommy xs post in another thread of this hybrid bike was possibly similar. But the hybrid (in the link) is a single and the above YCS is of course a twin
  22. I have a question:- if you're planning on a total strip down, How important is it to get it going? is it worth the risk or are you just trying to satisfy your curiosity? what will it prove.....especially when its been standing for a while. Have you put it new oil and cleaned the moving parts, because if you don't and you start it ......you might cause more problems. You're scared you might fry something, I'd be more concerned you might damage a few parts in your attempt. I'd forget it,............. just strip it properly, restore it and then start it.
  23. Why? Why would anyone do this?
  24. Another 'ol duffer who remembers both of those vids. I was in my final term at school in early 77 when telephone man was on the radio but I was listening to the Jam.. In the City! However, UpYours.......I'm intrigued why you are asking the question of if we remember it? Whats the story? Did you get a telephone installed? did you marry her? shag her?.......divorce her? come on U Yrs.....we want to know....................well i do!
  25. That all depends if you get stopped! In the first instance.........have you ever had a cop car behind you? personaly i rarely SEE a cop these days, let alone a squad car!! It would seem that unless you have a high police presence in your area, you're not likely have one behind you! Thereagain, if you draw attention to yourself:- speeding, dangerous riding etc etc then you can expect to be pulled, and if they pull you over , they will no doubt have a look at your bike then. I might be in the minority........ but i've been riding since 1978 i've only ever been pulled over by a cop once.......... and that was in 1978..!!
