My claim to a tartan is on my grandmothers side, Jackson, a right boring tartan if I may say so, where at Loch Ness did you stop? I was at Belladrum last year, near Beauly, beautiful countryside around there, some good distillaries to go round too, only regret was not doing the Glenmorangie one, on route to John o'groats.

DT, if you're gunna have to bugger up the cap, and replacements are unobtainable, can you not get in touch with fellow forum member Wayno, any millwright worth his salt, should be able to knock up a couple of those end caps in an hour or so.

Actually I was thinking more of the fact that plod will be out in force tomorrow, seeing as its a bike fest, they'll be coining it in, those things they'll be pointing at ya, won't be hairdryers. Just trying to be helpful, I'll be off then, I've got some fireworks I need to dry out;)

Bummer that, hope it's nearer to the £20 quid mark to fix, mind you I have found a very good free app for iphone, and presumably others i.e android, that might be of use as a tempary measure, and also depends how confident you are of strapping it in a place where it's not going to vibrate off, whether you use it or not, but if your nearest motorbike spares shop takes up to 2 weeks for parts to come through, like mine does, and maybe you need your bike to get to work every day, it could make the difference between getting 3 points on your license, if you've as many cameras as we have down here. The apps called Dashboard, and you can either have it showing the screen as normal. Or theres a Heads Up Display feature that reflects off windshield/bubble etc Hope this helps some.

  15. Reckon the 4ft scaffold tube is about the best way of going about it Mastiff, just check for any cracks starting on the bend first mind, as that will mean it'll need taking off and a spot of weld on it,to strengthen it

Look nice mate, just out of interest, is that a matt gold finish? and how long from drop off to pick up ?, I ask because the place I use for powdercoating generally takes a fortnight, which seems a long time to me.

Cheers BEng, OG, & Cynic for your ideas, I'm going to have a looky round for the PV pulley and casing, and cables, and once I've got them on the engine in situ, I think I'll have a better idea of what I'll need to do, also I have a few different oil pump mechanisms I can cannibalise, but will have to check out fixing holes. For the main cable, the 'friction' lever type choke cable next to the switch gear on handlebars looks about the better idea so far. Anyroad I reckon this thread will be back in a couple of weeks, once I have parts and can see whats what

Aye it was a nice and quiet place up until recently but they've added 50 new housing association dwellings on the end of Carswells, some right chavs moved in. Plus theres now the added nuisance of the boy racers in their souped up Corsas, racing around at 3 in the morning

Recently put a new manual choke lever/cable on the Motorhispania, just the job methinks, sits right alongside the switch gear. probably see a bit better on this pic

Just had a seed of a thought, and it is just a crazy idea at this stage, but, and OG I'm hoping for some input from you mate, along with others, But have had a thought about using my oil pump cable, (as it will be redundant as I'll be going pre-mix,) for operating the powervalve, mines a manual one at the min, I can only have it on two settings, locked open, and locked shut and although the cables and pulleys are easy enough to get hold of, the servo's aren't, and that depends if it's a 3 wire or a 5 wire one, plus they inna cheap. Has anybody any knowledge of this being done, and if not, do ya reckon it would work?
