    The forum calendar

Hi Vez, I've changed the permission settings for subscribers. Now all subscribers can create calendar events bypassing any moderation. I've kept moderation on for free members and guests to stop spam. Let me know how you get on and thanks for bringing this up.

  9. Cheers guys, sorry I'm late in replying I was taken a way for my birthday to Tasmania. Had a great time there and the best part is... I've got a day with a Formula Ford race team to give me training for the day in a fully race prepped Formula Ford. I can't wait :-)
  10. Hi guys, we've been making some changes to the membership options to provide much better value to all our dedicated members. And to help invest in newer technologies to allow us to keep on improving the reliabilty, speed and functionality of the club. There will now be a much more simple membership choice for all new users, and existing users will be much happier for sure :-) New options are: Sponsor - Removal of advertising, Classifieds Access, Access to live Chat £5 - No expiry Standard - Removal of advertising, Classifieds Access, Access to live Chat, Use of the Garage, Use of the Gallery £5 - 1yr Membership Professional - Removal of advertising, Classifieds Access, Access to live Chat, Use of the Garage, Enhanced use of the Gallery £10 - 3yr Membership So for all existing sponsored users, you now all have free acess to live chat And for all existing professional users your membership has now been extended for free to 3 years You'll notice the 'removal of advertising' options, as we are looking to add advertising to non paying members in an unobtrusive manor, to help subsidise the running costs of the club.
  11. Hi this forum is independent of Yamaha Philippines and we are unable to help you. You will need to speak to the Yamaha 3s shop.
  12. Hiya I have setup live view as previously installed with the old version. Now it's enabled, the topic views counter will be updated as one loads a topic. Previously, the topic views would be written to another database and the topic views updated every 3 hours. The reason for this was at the time on our older server at peak times we were getting around 300 registered users at once (Exc guests). Getting This data on a reduced level significantly reduced overhead on the topics database table. When the board was very busy it overcomes the write lock initiated when the topic counter is updated which would slow the forum down serverley. Just over a month ago our server was upgraded to run newer versions of the forum application, a newer database version, and we've physically upgraded the server. I'm hoping that these upgrades will allow the forum to run with live view enabled without affecting page load times. It's difficult running the forums and getting the correct balance between server speed, reliability and functionality on a very small budget, actually negative budget :-p so please bear with me on this, I'm trying my best.
  13. Hiya and thanks for pointing this out armyofda12mnkeys. You're correct after upgrading the forum software several server settings were reset, and I forgot to modify the rewriting options! As for why it has taken so long, my apologies for that, I have been away for the week and haven't been online :-(

  15. Hiya, sorry about that. I've just upgraded the forum software and forgot about setting up the API settings for the facebook application so the two sites can talk to each other. All should be good now.

  18. Hiya, recieved this PR from the RAF, thought I would post in its full: Thousands of bikers from across the United Kingdom will join together for a massive ‘Ride Out’ next month in support of the Armed Forces. The ‘RAF Wings Appeal Easter Egg Run’ will take place on Sunday 28 March and funds raised will go to the RAF Wings Appeal, providing help for past and present members of the RAF, including our troops currently serving in Afghanistan. The bikers will ride out from a huge variety of points across England and Wales, meeting up with thousands of others at the Meole Brace Park & Ride in Shropshire, before finally going on to RAF Cosford as one huge group. Last year’s event proved to be an incredible visual spectacle with hundreds of members of the public lining the bridges of the M54 to watch almost 3,000 bikers make their way to the RAF base. Following its major success, organisers are hoping to smash the total of people taking part this year. Funds raised will go to the RAF Association’s Wings Appeal 2010 and its ‘Miles More Minutes’ campaign. Currently RAF personnel who are deployed overseas in theatres such as Afghanistan receive 30 minutes of government funded phone calls to their families back home per week. This is the equivalent of 4 ½ minutes per day. Miles More Minutes aims to fund more time for them to speak to their loved ones, enabling them to feel closer even though they are so far apart. Entry is £5 - to take part, or find out where your nearest starting point is, visit www.rafa.org.uk for more details. RAF Wings Appeal spokesperson Dougie Bancroft, said: “If you want to make a difference and have a great time while doing so – then join in this fantastic event with hundreds of other motorcyclists from across the United Kingdom. 20. Sorry guys only just seen this thread. The server has been upgraded so hopefully none of you are experiencing a slow site at high traffic levels now. As for the driver errors these would have been me updating software. I try to do it when the forums are at their quietist, but is often not possible due to time differences :-(
