[that's a neat bike, i like the girder but that rear fender sure is ugly. But as far as custom bikes go if you didn't ride her first she was never yours...

check the wires under the left engine cover as u sit on bike this is the vacum advance. while the bike is running gently tug or push the two small stretchy wire you should get a noticeable difference in rpms replace with longer heavier wire. and i do agree with the others clean your carbs and try them and then clean them again and then once more just for fun

that is true they did have problems . but overall when they run they are fun, they do look good and at the end of the day at least its a yamaha
  7. you can use the yz forks if every thing measures up,the kicker is that the yz wheel doesn't have the drive for a speedo. This can be fixed with an electric digital speedo from a bicycle the one that has a magnetic pickup that u mount on the wheel i recommend the use of zip tyes on that pickup. these are fairly cheap and can be ordered at any good bicycle store or if it fits u can mount your current wheel on the yz forks and retain your original speedo.

Oh come on somebody out there had to have blown up a bunch of these.a pristine 73 tx 750 was up to 12,000 on ebay not to long ago. you should be ashamed yama-fans there is no bad yamaha just better ones, show some sympathy for an old war horse where its due.

I don't think there are rigid frames available. A sawzal a mig welder and a good eye ball can fix anything

clean of your battery ground at the frame. fix wires on vacum advance. the advance wires tend to stretch and break internally on these, so if the bike is running just tug on either of the two wires, and engine revs should be noticeably different
