if i'm understanding you correctly, the rubber bushings are most likely to blame. Try and get the part # from yamaha and check to see if you can get them anymore. you could always solid mount them but it will chatter your teeth.
  3. I think it would be great, there is nothing out there for Yamaha sleds especially vintage sleds. This may not be a big deal for some people, but here in Minnesota and the great north woods we get snow. It would get used believe you me. THANKs tO All

my mic says its 70mm,and the mic doesn't lie. The thing is the piston in it now appears to have about 10thousanth slap on the skirt end, and on the top. So i cant help but think this was never the right piston in the first place. Also when i got this bike i tore the top end off only to find the piston in backwards .

has no one ever heard of the yamaha factory perfomance kit, the GYT kit was available from the dealer when you bought your bike or snowmobile. This kit included tuned pipes, carbs, clutch set, a complete top end with bigger ports and more compression.

when i got this bike i tore down the top end, only to find the piston in backwards and a very shoty base gasket . after looking closely and picking alot of old gasket material out of the oil journals and transfer ports i reassembled with new base gasket. and it still wont so much as fire. I also cycled through the timing and not a sputter. does anyone know about what these should have for compression.
