  1. Not a good start to the week. I would keep the pressure on the police and not just dismiss it. You could have been seriously hurt, or worse! I would also talk to the woman who may know who the kids are and try and get as much information as possible. Imbeciles but it is possible that their parent(s) would me gobsmacked at what they are getting up to.
  2. Anyone know when this is coming in? It says "early 2011" on the official Gov web site, so must be soon. I have just read it does not apply to cars reg'ed in NI and if your vehicle was off road prior to SORN starting it does not need to be SORN'ed except if it is brought back onto the road. That means my TS is safe until I have it ready
  3. I would always get a check (Commonly called HPI) and you can do this using a number of Companies like mytextcheck etc, although I would expect the dealer to give you the one they did when they brought the bike (Trade cost is about £3 do one) The check will let you know if there is a problem with a number of categories relating to the bike like a MAJOR accident recorded or outstanding finance, stolen etc. If you have brought from a decent dealer this should be clear for most categories however, if there is a MAJOR accident recorded then the value of the bike will be reduced. I have put the word MAJOR is caps as any small claim or where the repair has been done outside of an insurance claim may not be recorded. This, to me, is the most common reason why people randomly change the bike colour. The bottom line is, if you are happy with the bike, and it's looks, then there is not a problem, just enjoy and remember next time you are buying.
  4. Hi and welcome. It may be nothing or it could have been painted to hide some damage. Did you get a vehicle check to see if the bike was registered as damaged? A lot of bikes have minor damage due to being knocked over or dropped at low speed and it costs a fortune to repair this type of damage back to original so people tend to er....................... make a feature of it. Not saying this is the case, but there is a possibility.
  5. Great story. I would guess that more than a few of us have had similar experiences. I hope it gets going.
  6. Welcome Bee.
  7. How long does it take to go to the sign and add 5p per Litre? Poor old motorists.................mugged again.
  8. Hi madpig, 2 wheels are better than 3, in my opinion. Welcome to the forum.
  9. Hi Wee Hen. Welcome to the forum.
  10. Welcome to the forum.
  11. Welcome Michael.
  12. No worries. This site HERE is quite useful for reference.
  13. Not sure you are right on number 4. A horn is a must but 9v?? Lots of 6 volters around.
  14. The winter winter salt is eating the SV metal bits as I type. Can't be arsed to wash it off. It has been a long winter but I normally have seen at least one other nutter winter rider most days. There have been days this winter when my fingers hurt from the cold so much it brought tears to my eyes, and that is with heated grips. I agree that it is getting to that time when all the very very shiny bikes will come out with their Hein Gericke play suits and £750 lids.
  15. I get T mobile Orange when the T mobile signal drops, which is often! French Telecom run I believe and a much better signal in France.
  16. Rideable classic for me but maybe the next 6 to 8 Months getting it where I want it (Parts permitting). I use the SV to ride, enjoy and commute and it is my first choice form of transport. I want to be able to commute on the TS on dry days during the summer and maybe pop to a few events and weekends away.
  17. Hi and welcome. R6......................... Hmmmm nice.
  18. I have had a couple of zafiras. Very bus like but lots of space. Ideal for school and shopping runs.
  19. Most of the bits are there but some are in a lot poorer condition than I expected. The exhaust is no good, the tank is no good, not sure about the oil cover panel. The head and cylinder fins are fine (need to see if the cylinder will take a rebore). The engine turns freely in all gears but the oil has emulsified. There is a spark. The frame, swingarm and most other "structure" parts look as though they will clean up. Took the tax disc holder off and there are 4 disks in in from '92 to '95. I also have 3 MOTs for around the same period. Good advice Drewps. The day after my birthday so I will be going with a list I think.
  20. No. Have you tried a motorcycle dealers or spares shop?
  21. I will give you a fiver if you can deliver it. Subject to T&C's. Do you know how long I should cook lamb shanks for?
  22. Never heard of them BWJ. I'm on T Mobile but the signal is bad where I live.
  23. For a bit of a shock to a bolt if it isn't going to shift. Plusgas, heat, cold and repeat. I like the banana TS's too but nothing came up that looked like a challenge for the right money. If only that worked.
  24. Ha ha. It's a dismantling lubricant . Even I wouldn't want to drink it . It is next to the freeze spray, the GT86, the WD40 and the degreaser. I just hope no one lights a match
  25. Cheers BWJ. I have 2 big tins of plusgas at the ready for tomorrow.
