I would rather go to watch the Tour de France for the duration than the week at the IOM. If you had a choice, and could only go to one, which one would it be?
  6. I bet it smelt fantastic there................. No not OG, the rally
  7. I would never put car oil in a bike. If you have a wet clutch (clutch is immersed in the oil) then I would say you have buggered it. As far as I know, car oil contains lots of slippery additives and these try and stop your clutch plates from gripping.

I haven't had time to to much recently Drewps. I met up with one of my sons and his wife yesterday, had lunch, then home. It took most of the day. Uttoxeter is only an hour from me but I spent 3 hours in the car yesterday. Maybe next year.

Not much happening on the TS front at the moment. My latest box of spares have arrived and this is what was in it. I do need to get moving on the restore but work and family have kept me too busy the last few weeks. However, the swingarm is now off.

Just complained to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) about the MIB continuous Insurance ad. I have become Victor Meldew! but I also saw a DVLC van on Friday with 4 APNR cameras on the roof. One on each corner.

Isn't that good? The system should have no pressure when cold, hence you can safely take the rad cap off. When the water gets hot the pressure builds up and the rad hoses should feel harder. All controlled by the thermostat.

A lot of bikes share the same filters but the price normally reflects this so I doubt there are any bargains to be had. My SV shares the same one as a lot of GSXR's but it you search for the GSXR ones, they are the same price. Me personally only use original filters unless they are obsolete. The difference in price over a year is so small it is not worth messing about.

The biggest problem is that although evilbay push their "protection" down our throats, when it comes to the crunch they are not interested. Don't get me started on their fees. They should be reported for extortion!

A lot of places will put a "mushroom" in it but it needs to be in the middleish of a tread block really.

A hello in the proper area of the newbs section would be a good start. You have posted this twice, both in the wrong places, and haven't bothered to say hello to us. Post a hello in the proper part of the newbs and then put this in the workshop are (bottom part of the first page) and I am sure people will come along to help. Cheers.
  21. Hi and welcome to the forum. I know that if you read this LINKY you may get a better response.
  22. I doubt it if you have a spark. Listing what you have done is one thing but describing what happens when you try to start it would help us to help you. What colour is the spark? Does the spark get damp (with fuel) Does the engine turn over when you try to start it Will it push start Have you tried easystart Are you happy the carb has been put back together and fitted correctly Same as above with the reed valve.
