iam the new boy hi!
Hi Blackhat, A50 to the M1/A6 and down the A6 a bit. Not too many miles from Uttoxeter but the other side of the M1. The A50 is a great road for me to get to the M6 to head North - Glasgow side.

Silkolene V-twin 10w-50 fully synthetic motorcycle engine oil
The oil has to be a compromise between lubing and getting through the oil channels. They know more than me so if they say 10/40, I buy 10/40. They did spec oils differently for different markets so if you were in the tropics you would have one range and if you were in the Arctic they would recommend a different range. I don't know if they do that anymore.

Ybr 125 Engine Won't Start
Different bikes, different size plugs. A clue to what bike it is may help you buy the right one. Most socket sets have one but the size and the type are different depending on access to the plug. My SV has an articulated plug spanner otherwise I wouldn't be able to change the front plug without taking the radiator off. What bike is it????

Ybr 125 Engine Won't Start
As well as drying out the spark plug as OG mentioned, a lot of bikes have a starting characteristic. I don't mean all xxx250's have to be started a particular way but each bike seems to know what it likes to start up easily. Being fuel injected, it means that a choke position is not a consideration. When you start it do you turn the throttle during or before pushing the starter button? I would turn the bike on and push the starter, no throttle at all. if that doesnt work move to a small amount of throttle held in one position, not twisting and I mean small; then I would try full throttle and push the button. The bike should start and idle with no throttle at all to start with but the plug(s) may need a clean first.

Silkolene V-twin 10w-50 fully synthetic motorcycle engine oil
Ah, now I know. I did used to use a quality Silkolene oil and found it very good but have moved to Rock oil stuff now. Probably a good time to remind people that most car oils contain additives that will kill a wet clutch in a bike so the bargain car oils from their local supermarket may not be a bargain after all.

All puns intended
Good list Drewps! number 11 is my favourite. Rudolph, a communist Russian Tzar, was looking out of his window. His wife enters the room and askes' "what is the weather like today"? "It is raining" replies the Tzar. "Are you sure it is not sleet"? questions the wife, to which the Tzar replies' "Rudolph the red knows rain dear". Disclaimer: It might not be funny but at least it is seasonal.

I use Rock Oil Guardian 10/40 semi synth in the SV (V twin) and rate it very highly. JASO MA, JASO MA2 and API SL approved - whatever that means.

'78 Suzuki TS250C project
Well, not much progress on the TS. Part are still arriving but I have not done much to the bike. Lots of things are keeping me busy, family not being well, trying to run 10 big projects at work and the granddaugthers birth have taken there toll on time and finances. I really need to sort out a new shed as a number one priority. I have been earnestly looking but I can only fit a 7 x 10 on the slab so I will need to do some groundwork. Ideally I would like a 16 x 10 but may have to settle for a 12 x 10. I have realised that I have brought a project that you can't get parts for. When the parts do show up, they are the price of a new project each!!!! The earlier banana exhaust TS parts seem to be easier and cheaper to get hold of! I did get a parcel this morning. It looks like this: It is in very good condition but should be chrome. I am hoping to get it stripped and chromed in time. As an example to my earlier rant about parts prices, compare it to this part on evilbay at the moment LINKY Read the ad description; "NOS, dented and marked", take the item price and postage, add the import duty and the Royal Mails charge to collect the duty, add the price for knocking out the dents and re-chroming and you get............................. well a lot of money. The yellow one I brought was not cheap plus I am guessing about £100 to get it re-chromed. Bl00dy Suzukis. Well, enough of the moaning. I need to get the bike sorted for the 2012 YOC weekend. More updates coming soon.
