  1. Muchos respect to you OG. I really enjoyed the relaxedness of the day. Squires should be a blast.

Just outside Drumnadroicht NEV. Beautiful part of the world. No whisky/Scotch for me, the smell turns my stomach over.
  3. Met up wit Danzley0 at Leicester services on the A6 this morning. A quick drink and we hit the A46 to Lincoln fest. An uneventful ride there only broken by the sound of Danzley0's straight through, slash pipe (very loud) and his L plate flying off into the distance. Parked up and met up with Oldgitonabike for a drink and bacon cobs. Chatted bikes for a while and then had a wander around. It was very small but, at that time, the rain had kept off. Time for another drink and then we decided to make our way's home as it had just started to rain. I decided to risk not throwing on my waterproofs but this transpired to be a bad decision as it rained all the way home. Although small, it was good to meet up with Danzley0 and OG and have a decent ride out. Here are some pics starting with Danzley0's and my bikes.

You certainly lived up to your nickname with that one BWJ!. You Scots will deep fry anything I can get a set of forks from the states for £82 including postage but plus the import duty and they are the ones with the better type tops. Rather that than walk around the house with a full, hot chip pan. I don't have a chip pan anyway, would a slow cooker do?

Cycnic/OG - when you say heat, are you saying paint stripper heat or blow torch heat? Nev - I should be able to get someone at work to turn me a couple. I am waiting for a guy who has a set of forks to contact me so lets hope that becomes an option too. Just minor hiccups. Funny how some things are seized on and some were covered in copperite

Ahh, sorry NEV I misunderstood. To be honest I didn't even think of that, so thanks. I am hoping that it is working but........... Mind you it is an SV so any points for speeding on it will double the price when I sell it

Well the good news is that several tools arrived this week. The 600mm breaker bar is the dogs. Sealey professional range and is very substantial. Recommended LINKY I also got a rotor puller and a holding tool However, even with the boiling water and Plusgas regime over the week, the cap still will not budge. I have now knackered the cap so I may have to drill it in several places, to break the caps integrity, and then get it off. They are now unobtainable, but hay ho. No time at the moment to do much on this as work has kept me busy.

Cheers guys. NEV - I do have an app on my phone that came with all of the rest of the bloatware (OG - stuff you don't want, can't remove, but is there anyway ). I have a HTC Desire HD BTW I won't use the speedo app though as I can't be ar5ed. Most of my commute is country lanes and then I hit 3 miles of duel carriageway average speed cameras. They do however, face towards the traffic and no plate on the front of the bike BWJ - just took the front wheel off and the sensor is as you mention, just a black plastic/Bakelite thing. All 4 lugs are fine but there is supposed to be a thin washer which I think is missing. I can't see anything wrong with it so I have reassembled it as I don't want to mess about due to the ride out tomorrow. It may now be working, it may not, but if it is not I will order the whole lot (10 days). The other bad design is that the cable is bolted tightly to the fork in 2 places so this may have broken an internal wire. OG - It is an easy fix, just Bl00dy expensive. Cash from my TS fund, unfortunately. I will be updating that thread when I finish posting this.

What happened to speedo cables with an outer and an inner with two knurled knobs, one at each end? The SV speedo has decided to pack up. Common fault, normally the rotor or the sensor. so either £21 or £120 to fix. I guess both plus VAT I just hope something was not clicked in when I had the wheels off for the tyres a few weeks ago. So front wheel off today and a quick lube to get set for Lincoln tomorrow.

Nice looking car - from a distance. Many decades ago they were selling one as a car auction I was at. The finish was appalling, both inside and out. You could even see the glue they used for the dash. I still would have brought it but much too rich for me. When I was in Loch Ness last year my "significant other" tried to get my step dad some tartan. He is a Bremner so a Fukc Fack Farquharson but they said they had never heard of it. This could be the YOC meet uniform for 2011

I have a longway and it is great. It needs a visor at the moment. I like it but the front is close to your face, which I guess is due to getting the helmet to close. I have quite a large Proboscis, but it is fine. No visor though. I also have a K4 which, for the money is fantastic, fibreglass so light. Both are ACU gold rated. I think that AGV are very under rated. I have had Shoei and Arai but, to me, they are not that much better but cost a lot more.

    Isn't that Burberry NEV?

25% off AGV helmets at the moment at the sportsbikeshop. I don't know how keen the prices are but I have 2 AGV's at the moment I brought from there and I like them. LINKY

I don't want to spend my £10 annual clothing allowance on a dodgy T shirt. £10 will go a long way in Primark or the local charity shop.

I got the joke and understood where you were coming from. Not the thing you say at an interview for a job! My other half was watching it yesterday and I caught glimpses of it. Just to make sure that I am not misinterpreted, I am presently working in a hospital. I am working on Orthotics/Prosthetics and MRI scanning projects and before that spent the last 18 months working on Chemo/Radiotherapy/palliative projects. As a biking smoker I find that quite funny. One thing I do know is that, since the completion of the Chemo/radio project, people who live in my hospital's catchment area have fantastic access to the best treatment in this country. It should be the best, I spent £21.6 million quid on it last year. Looking to do the same for the current project, if I can can squeeze some cash out of the NHS Trust.
