Hi Blackhat. I have to disagree, in part. Some parts are just luck to find. The shed fund has been hit, again, but the NOS swingarm arrived today. very pleased. I have also been watching a NOS exhaust for weeks now in the hope that it would come down in price and no one else would buy it. It hasn't so I swallowed hard and pushed the buy it now button. It is overseas so I will get hit with the customs duty & VAT but these are very hard to find for my year of bike. There is a used one on US evilbay. I email him and asked if he would consider shipping it to Englandville but he did not bother to even reply. Oh well, at least I can look forward to a belated Christmas pressie when the NOS one arrives. Just hope it is worth the cash as it was NOT cheap!!!!!

No worries. Ridden a few Divi's, never owned one. All I can remember is that they seemed tall and thin and the fuel caps used to whistle a lot. Stick a thread in the workshop section. First page and scroll down.

7 wire CDI's Brown, Red White/Red, Black from the stator to the CDI matching coloured wires. From the CDI it was; Black/White, Black, Orange Orange to the coil Black looped back to the Black input and earth Black/White was the engine cut off so if not connected to anything the engine runs and if earthed the engine stops or won't start. It is important that the coil, CDI and stator are properly earthed. The other wires from the stator are light blue - Neutral light - earth really Green/White - which goes to the rectifier and MAY change to White only in the loom Yellow - goes to power the lights These last 3 are not required for the bike to start and are lights charging use only. No battery is required to run them.

Sell the bike for scrap and buy yourself a course on manners. This would be a much better way to spend your money. What people are trying to tell you is that you will get a much better response if you are polite and civil. I would agree with that. Just remember that bleed nipples can shear off and pistons can seize. Brakes can be a painful job to do right if they have not been maintained properly. Stainless steel nipple replacements can help and a set of new seals with the new fluid and pads should have you doing stoppies in no time.

A good thread on oil here I prefer Rock Oil. Please do not use car oil. Tyre pressures are never going to be accurate even if you use a good quality pressure gauge. As soon as you take off the gauge, the air escapes. I run my bike with slightly higher pressures as it seems to handle better. Forums are full of questions such as "What tyres" and "What pressures". I prefer to make my own mind up and these are sooooooooo subjective.

Ho ho ho everyone. Not too many sleeps left until that fat bloke squeezes down your chimney and visits your kids bedrooms in the dead of night - a bit worrying that!! Hmmmm. 2 possible solutions Si; 1) Handlebar end mirrors, possibly 2) Ask Santa for a healthy eating cookbook I would look at option 1 only personally.

Not sure if this is true, a DT80 engine perhaps? The 2 stroke would be more fun though.

It could be what Sammy advised. I would guess a top end rebuild at the very least. On a '58 plate the bike would still be worth saving, even with the other bits that need doing. The easiest 2 options are; 1) Sell the bike as a non runner 2) Buy another engine and fit it. This is normally easier than messing with stripping an engine. One for sale here LINKY
