What the hell's the difference
Same as Neo really. Headlights show you where you are going. Designed to spread light in an arc to include the curb area. Regulated as to where they can be fitted and what spread of light they throw, but you don't legally need them for your MOT. Spotlights throw a beam in the light's direction. Like a torch. Used for country lanes where you often need to have a beam of light directed a lot further ahead than the light the headlight throws so you can actually see where you are going. They can "blind" oncoming drivers. Running lights are pure pose. Don't necessarily throw any useful light but light the bike up like a Christmas tree (did you like what I did there?). Similar to the light in the boot of a car, they just illuminate the area locally to where they are fitted. I think that there is a lot of legislation in the UK as to where and how they all can be fitted; what can be turned on with what and; if you have to have a warning light fitted.

DT 125 RE - Best way to remove rust?
Scotchbrite OG. It depends how rusty the exhaust is. Use Jenolite as OG said and then scotchbrite fine. The rust doesn't have t all come off. Good point. Gloves as well if you feel the need.

DT 125 RE - Best way to remove rust?
It depends how you define "rust". Surface rust can be rubbed down with some scotchbrite pads (look on evilbay) and then the exhaust painted with a high temperature black paint from a rattle can. If you are talking holes, then some people get a patch of metal welded over these but it looks very messy. The good news is that you can still get new pipes for these (I think). Have a look here LINKY, too late for Christmas but....................

Merry Xmas and a Happy new year everyone
A very merry Christmas (other religions and religious events are available) to all on YOC (other forums are also available). Lets hope the Health and Safety people (other stupid EU rules may apply) don't restrict us further in 2012. Disclaimer - Riding a motorcycle can be dangerous. You do it at your own risk. Sorry, still in work mode at the moment and the last thing I would like to do is upset anyone and leave myself open to a "no win no fee" claim. The example below must be the most PC stupid thing I have seen this Christmas, so far!!

'78 Suzuki TS250C project
Well I came home from work this evening to a big box. Posted 9 days ago from Thailand at Surface Air Lift (SAL) rate which is cheaper than standard rate. And this during the Christmas period. I am well impressed. Better still it seemed to bypass any customs inspection. Very pleased with it. Needs a rub down and a coat of paint but NOS and not a hint of carbon anywhere.

For all of those international Ebay purchases. Import tax calculator
Hi all, A lot of us import parts from overseas evilbay sites. We know we may get charged import and VAT but do we really know how much? This calculator may help you and it is smart enough for you to enter the item number. Remember Post office collection charges are not included. As a tip, click "Car parts, DIY and tools" in the first selection box and motorcycle parts will show in the next selection. LINKY

Which Helmet? From someone out of the saddle for 20 years
Fit is the number one priority followed by the safety standard (ACU Gold in the UK), then what it is manufactured from, lastly chin strap fitting for me. I like AGV because they fit my head.
