  1. that was what you call an armchair thriller!!
  2. could be only firing one one cylinder and the backfire is unburned fuel igniting and then working. I suggest a tune up of ignition/timing drewps
  3. well I went on me own as no-one likes me anymore i met up with a mate though and we had a great time cracking weather, got a tan and the GP paddock was amazing with a triple MZ racer reving up someone made a dohc BSA triple which was amazing here are some pikkies and there was trial demos with brit and jap bikes
  4. well i decked out my work with st Georges flags and did a menu to complement. wore my badge with honour. a few said what's with all the st georges cross and i soon told them. doing my bit on sunday when i lead the st george's day parade with the district scouts!

  6. Tappets..... TAPPETS!! thats from OHV engines joking aside, get the vendor to measure theirs. how many are missing? do you know the xs400 and xs360 sohc have the same ones so you can widen your search! part number = 1L9-11186-00

  8. you could, loosen the nut , then adjust the clutch and hand tighten the socket with the screwdriver holding the scew in place, then nip up the nut! not perfect but can't seeing the screw moving too much
  9. 650 engine too tall so is not feasable without frame mods

  13. if you can read the international bearing reference on your old bearings, get them from a local bearing stockists. don't forget there is a mushroom spacer on the side of one bearing which needs to be drifted out!! part # 93306-30417 = b6304z part # 93306-30309 = b6303z

  15. that "stopper" seals the oil within the rocker arm shaft, it seals when the points cover is put on properly
  16. done that,its soda crystals with an annode of stainless steel. you hook up a car battery charger and depending how immersed the annode is the more current flows. the part is either made positive or neg, (can't remember which) cleans off the rust really good
  17. first you need a 10mm box spanner and a philips screwdriver. the locknut on the clutch adjuster needs to be undone with the box spanner then the screwdriver can be fed through the box spanner and turned clockwise till it lightly stops, then back it off 1/4 turn. holding the screwdriver still, tighten the box spanner/lock nut up, done at the clutch lever there should be 3 - 5mm "slack" in the cable drewps

  23. earthing on starter button or faulty solinoid
  24. if you are on points, disconnect the charging circuit and start bike (it will run loss less) then you need to check the charging circuit for earthing if it runs. running cdi with out charging circuit fry's the box!!
