with the carbs upside down, the tang should be just resting on it. Use a vernier caliper to measure the height

sunday 1st 2012
sorry mate, I wasn't going to go, then I got up late and saw the sun and thought Bollocks, I'm out. Prepped the bike and spent 30 mins wrapping up. Just as well you didn't follow as I had no map and just rode there on the A roads, bit boring in places and then some nice roads too. Next time its sunny, I phone first then you can always say no ( Vamp I'll PM my Moby, then at least we can communicate, I'll forward it to Kev too) Drewps

Horizontal adjustment a. Remove the headlight as follows: 1. Using your thumb, push the tab at bottom of the headlamp up until it disengages from the ring. 2. Turn the ring counter-clockwise to full unlock position and remove. 3. Remove the headlight from the nacelle and disconnect the wiring. b. Loosen the bolt on the left side of the nacelle until the nacelle is just free to slide fore and aft

XS400G - Carburetor Woes (Surprise!)
those spray bars needs cleaning. don't drill out the screw on the diaphram caps, use either a long gripper or try and get it in a vice and turn the carbs. my left carb leaked at first , but it fills the right carb too and mine stopped after a bit and has been fine ever since. try 27mm as a compromise. your still too lean! 3 turns out on pilot mix screw? BTW check that the pilot tip hasnt broken off in the carb, common on PO's who mess and tighten them up too much.

why not run a multimeter over the connections to check continuity. A picture would help in diagnosing. a little hello would be great in new members section too!
