Hi Jeepz, that's some work there. Manifold intake is really a work of art
-
try raising the needle one notch if you running a spannie
-
very interesting, looking forward to see how this turns out. also try the www.xs400.com site as the bike shares everything with the 400 except carbs head and barrel in the sohc range. I have a rewire how to on there too!
-
good camera work to capture that. adds fuel for thought
-
thanks Cynic, nicking my joke congrats Keith and enjoy your honeymoon, Kev can give you a few pointers in that area!
-
I think tassles in the grips, like the Raleigh chopper
-
kev swears by race leathers.co.uk even though he don't wear any

don't lose heart foams. I thought when I saw you updated this thread you were going to jack it in (again!) I'd get the thing welded up and re-drill it using a drill press

Matt, you can't ask for copies/pdf's of Haynes. The internet Gestapo is tolling for these key words, hence I have taken that out. the yam service manual is very good and should tell you everything for maintenance. Keep looking and yes, sounds just like faulty clutch cable

thought the bike was mint condition? dented tank and seized engine doesn't sound like mint to me soaking the engine pistons would be the only way to go, diesel's the cheapest option
-
anyone going to this, weather looks good. I'll be there with Mike
-
by a couple of 14 year olds, brilliant and a lot of work

great story Pat and well done for braving the weather. Memories are made of this
-
some good stuff there

that's why I take them to bill the wheel in Warrington. have you tried Wyldes of leeds?
-
good project, I think Merv will be back on here and extiling the virtures and vices of the aircooled rd club of which I frequent. You would get a lot more advice from there. not sure of the model you have, but the brakes are the same as the xs range from 250 to 1100. If you have a bracket on the left hand fork stantion you could use SR500 brakes which are left handed. The wheels normally come pre-drilled to take another disk. even better, I think the aprillia rs125 fits and has stonking brakes on them (they fit the xs400 frames of which the rd uses the same headstock bearings)

sounds like jambuttie to me, knotty ash?
