my first idea would be the battery amps too low, then maybe the splines are worn on the starter? starter bearings gone?

proper chuffed ive Just passed my full bike license
well done, only ride as far as you can see, but watch for side roads especially. Cars find it hard to judge your speed I always ride with a "get out" in case it goes pear shaped in front. ie keep checking mirror and plan an escape route where you can ride through without a collision. (even if its a path)

there's a knack to do 'em too. Need soaking in water for a few hours and wear gloves as they are as itchy as Fook. start from the engine and work your way down not more that 1/2 width (gets tricky on bends) did my tracker and they still look good and "lived in"

correct for a CDI john, but it is TCI which uses coils and is a trigger for them at the correct time
