  8. really! 3 posts on the same problem?
  9. or not enough revs locking this, go to
  10. join carpe-tdm they have more info than I could ever know
  11. I packed the Gilera silencer with wool which expands when heated so packs it tighter. http://www.firehalt.com/acoustafil/default.htm the complany is fairly local to me but it was cheaper off ebay (employee funds?)
  12. yam used the same type of pet cocks in the same year so look at HVC cycle, bike bandit or yamaha top dog for bits
  13. i'm just doing the valves ATM, the little shims are a pain and need to take the cams out too One thing I noticed, the pounding on the inlet journals peens the alloy slightly, check that you have 3mm oil holes on the gallery (one had closed up to 2mm) and I had to file away the edges just to get the buckets out. they are cracking engines though
  14. very goods bikes ask Tommy XS
  15. looks like its a fuel injection model which the 900's had. looks like the top will fit and put the gearbox inside the 850 http://www.justanswer.com/motorcycle/3qhvl-will-yamaha-tdm-900-engine-fit-tdm-850-frame.html
  16. the 9'ers are alloy frames, fuel injection, etc etc, i wouldn't bother. Are you sure its a 900? they came out in 2001 for info http://www.jbx9.16mb.com/index.php?page=HST
  17. insurance companies will wait as it makes liability easy to apportion.
  18. loose rear wheel? unbalanced wheel, in 6th you'll be going a lot faster than 2nd and 3rd so inertia forces could just balance it out. check all bearings including the rear sprocket carrier and rear disk
  19. if the stator runs the ignition without the ignition box and you can rig up some wiring to that effect, then its possible. some carbs have throttle position sensors though so you need to check that out too.
