picking up a TDM850 Mk2 saturday
well I've finally got the 17" wheel fitted to the TDM. I had to have another spacer made as the original one was 2mm too small and would have put a side load on the bearing. I also had to purchase a C3 bearing as that was the only size there was that would fit the 17mm axle and the wheel. Last thing I had to do was put a small washer twixt speedo mech and bearing as the disk alignment was out (talking 1 mm here, and made a big diference) Got the R5 fitted and took the girl out for a ride, wow much better with handling and feels so different to the 18". had to lower the front guard too so use 45mm x m6 stainless screws and about 25mm tubing to lower. Now there's room for a fork brace

Valve shim clearance FZ600
great news, was it the float bowls? compression is better warm btw, but you may find you have gummed rings which will free when you use the bike more. bike should get better as you use it

perplexed
will post a hello in the new members section mate, tell us where your from (update your profile too) 3k to 4k is when the pilot goes onto mains and is the transition, also where exup is too. does exup motor turn the valve and its the right way round? Mikunis are buggers for blocking too, may need to be surgically cleaned inside the drillings

maybe worth checking as it a simple procdure. you can check either worn rings (squirting oil in bores and noting the difference) or valves not sealing. I usually let some choke off if it gets too high revs, 2k seems a reasonable self imposed limit on a cold engine. BTW mine started lovely after winter hibernation I drained out the carbs first though

I think you would need to contact Hindle themselves. I have an aftermarket one on mine and dyno'd it. The fuel was too rich so had the drop the needle. I did go up 1 jet size for the K&N filter though

there's not just jets but drillings within float bowl. could be the seals on the butterfly throttle. start bike (eventually) and spray your easy start around the carbs and see if the revs rise, that'll tell you if you have any leaks. could also be water in fuel tank, mine had a shit load in so drained off. Also check filter not clogged with rust particles

no idea what you mean by 1.1 etc intakes should be 0.11 - 0.15mm and exhaust 0.16 - 0.20mm cold I suspect carbs, they'll need stripping and vapour blasting then a thorough blasting with carb cleaner and air line. cold start device maybe blocked or letting in air I would suggest getting hold of a haynes or yamaha service manual, they are only £20 timing is set on these but you can advance them by dremel but as you are not even sure regarding valve clearences, i'd leave well alone. 1250rpm is the top idle speed adjustment so your ok there
