  1. On the 1976 and older DT 100's you can just unplug the ignition switch and the bike will run. Not sure about the 77.
  2. You can go to Yamaha's web site and find all your part numbers for all the decals.

2J5 is a 1978 YZ80, But that came with a CDI unit not points, someone could have changed it to points but why? What is the serial number on the engine.

I am glad you got the 80 running but I don't think you have a YZ. The 1978 YZ 80 E has a CDI Ignition but the 1978 GT 80 MX has contact breaker points.

I will take them all if you don't want them, The Gt 80's and the YZ dont share any of the same parts. All those bikes are worthty of restoration. The 74 GT 80's will probably bring the most money.

    250A 1974 250B 1975 250 C 1976 You have a 1976 DT250 C
  7. For value here are my picks #1 1974 YZ Bikes in good to great condition will bring good money. The 1968 DT1 is another, also the 1975 DT 400B is highly sought after in the USA. RD 350's do good if they are in good condition.RT1-RT3's bring good money and believe it or the old JTI can bring 3 G's. I am old school and like the older bikes.I do have some plastic bikes but can't see them holding much value, The production numbers are too high.
  8. Pictures are not there of the DT 250MX. Darn
  9. Yes, you are correct.
  10. Dude, check out my flag. The cable is in Florida. They are rare better get it if you need it.
  11. I did some looking and you have to look for PN 434-26341-04-00 and their is one on E Bay right now.

  14. Twin Shock replied to unclet's topic in Classics
The 1975 Will not work, The 1977 and 1978 Reed valve assembly are the same. They show up on E BAY sometimes. The part number is 1M1-13610-10-00. You can get the aftermarket reeds from Boyesen Reeds.
  15. I will second that. Good job!

The more you polish the more they shine ,you don't have to make them look like chrome, The baking soda leaves a smoother finish than glass beads.
  17. Could be too big and you are loosing engine back pressure.
  18. Twin Shock replied to adi750crow's topic in The Bar
If you want them to shine get you a bench polisher. If you are talking about heads and cylinders blast them with glass beads or baking soda.
  19. The part numbers are different, don't know if it will work or not.
  20. We are here for you.
  21. Sweet, lets see the DT.

  23. You bike came with a Mikuni VM22SS. Part number 558-14101-60-00
