Transporting Bikes?
my dad has a van but 200 miles is too far to go and i can respect that. atleast 4 hours solid driving. hiring a man with a van could probably work, my dads neighbour is a courier with a big curtainside van so it may be worth asking him

yeh, came off it on a diesel spill in a car park when still on the front brake a bit hard, put a crack through my left mirror which i spent £10 for the pair and had them on there two days... other than that its a tip-top bike for its age, does me fine but i really wish it had some plastic on it, gets terribly cold especially at night. will probably get some hand muffs

how could/would i fit a rev counter? could come in handy

better still, wait until they are caught in traffic, filter down the middle and whack their mirror off, if you are feeling daring you may rip it off and hand it back to them through the window before making good your escape

Transporting Bikes?
Hi everyone im still planning my tour of ireland and have decided that insted of riding a distance of 200+ miles from my hometown of newbury to Liverpool to get a ferry to dublin, it would be easier to ride to ride to somewere like reading, put the bikes on a train and get off at liverpool... ... question is, are there any services that would allow me to ride the bike on and then stay with it for the journey instead of having to send the bike in freight a few days before hand? (its just me and a mate from school so far, with another forum member possibly joining in, so make that 2 bikes with luggage and possibly a 3rd)

ah right, may be worth considering for when you get those impatiant twats riding right behind me when i am flat out at 40, they dont want to overtake you but just piss you off so much, i have on occasion decided to give them a brake test, but daren't follow it all the way through incase they decide to shunt me

how would he get them out of his pocket and chuck them without being seen and bollocked at the next set of lights?

rear sprocket
good old irn bru for the sake of a few quid i will go up to 14 on the front and see how i get on, but i was riding with a mate and his ped speedo was showing 52 when i passed him

rear sprocket
Stock is 11, so +2 is 13, i may aswell go to probike and get their front sprocket for a fiver nope, its either a 14 or staying where it is,

rear sprocket
thought as much. even if i am still getting 40 out of it with a 14 on the front i would feel happier riding it at 40 because currently it will get up to 40 and then i can really feelt he vibrations through the handlebars and footpegs, which makes my feet and hands go all giddy. plus, lower revs = longer lasting engine

rear sprocket
Probike said all they had was a 13, so im'a try and find a place where i can get 14 or bigger. will going down 1 tooth on the back make any difference at all?
-
rear sprocket
im running a 45 on the back, smallest i think is a 44. and a 12 on the front, largest is a 14. so i just need to find a 60mm sprocket with less than 44 teeth at 420 pitch... shouldn't be hard

yep, its getting that time of year again. im starting to wish i was old enough to have a car, or atleast had a bike with a bit of plastic on the front of it, that little peashooter of mine gets awful cold

rear sprocket
thats for the back sprocket. front sprockets work the other way as i understand it. there was a question about that in my RAF Airmen Selection Test today, it showed two gears and a series of answers. a small gear turning a larger one, the correct answer was "the smaller gear turns faster and in the opposite direction to the larger gear" i got 9/9 on the mechanical skills section, and i qualified to be an aviation mengineer XD

The Dream Garage
Yamaha DT400 (i just like DTs', lol) Honda Blackbird 1100XX - sports-tourer, to go around europe on, lol. Suzuki GSXR-1300 - SPEEEEEEEED and a nice big Dragstar for all the chrome and laid-back riding

rear sprocket
yeh, i thought it looked better on the left, so i flipped the image... ... OG thought my L plate was on upside down just been down to probike and the RS100 sprockets are 80mm and my DT ones are 60mm (hub size) so its not going to work may just get a suzuki TS or something a bit faster

rear sprocket
okay, well im also having a malossi 70cc kit on it, new reeds and a few other bits and pieces to get it running nicely even in its current state it will pull top gear up a hill nicely, but it will sit at 40 revving its balls off and i want to birng hte revs down a bit and get some more speed out of it.
-
rear sprocket
up as far as it will go on the front, still only getting 40 on the flats, dont want to put a big bore on it for more speed because then it will just rev its nuts off and self-destruct

rear sprocket
hi everyone am looking to gear my DT50 up a bit more, but i am running the smallest possible sprocket on the back and i still want to go smaller, i remember another member saying they had a Yam RS100 sprocket on their DT, would i need a specific year to fit the sprocket onto my original hub? and is it even possible?

In one sentence, can you ???
its the feeling of having all that power between your legs. you dont get the same experiance when you are inside a car, being on a bike leaves you free to look around you without obstruction (within reason), plus i love having the freedom to be small and nimble in the traffic, and to attract the ladies, nothing like sitting on the bike with your helmet under your arm wearing a leather jacket quite a few inuendos in this post... coincidence?, or is it just 'cus bikes are sexy?

RX-S100 cutting out
winter should be fine, colder air is more dense so contains more oxygen for more combustion... check the airfilter isnt too clogged up and is still allowing the passage of air to the carb/intake. other than that, give your carb a good clean as any foreign object in the carb will restrict airflow. few other things that spring to mind are carb float height causing the engine to flood when idling, incorrect jet settings or possibly a malfunction with the choke, check to see if it is actually disengaging at the carb when you press the lever

checked valve clearances and that sort of thing? gotta be fueling... are you getting a good spark?
-
At an end.
possibly its not moving off the idle jet onto the main jet, have you checked to make sure the jet is actually clear and not blocked? try changing the fuel also, i remember my dads' generator wouldnt go after about a years storage and it turned out to be sh*tty fuel
