oh ha-f*cking-ha... what game is it btw?, ive played Burnout Paradise nearly to death now, could do with a new one...
  2. if the bike was free it would be well worth restoring it to original condition and selling it on, as was mentioned before you will get more money for a near original classic bike than you would for a modified one

Managed to pick up another DT50 for spares, it's probably in slightly better condition than the one I bought to restore but there are still many parts missing (mag cover, pillion footpegs e.t.c but it also has no keys or V5/number plate so it looks as though this bike will be split for parts, also found a 21mm dellorto carb in the shed so will probably put that on for good measure

Nah i've been in the back of the hangar sniffing the degreasing fluid. Was thinking more along the lines of making a solo seat and fitting the tank behind the seat bolted to the frame, the tank can be had for about £40 and the only other major parts I need are two solenoids (which will work on 6v) and a reducer/vaporiser, the original petrol tank would stay to allow the engine to run on petrol in the event of the gas running out and to allow the engine to warm to a point where it is able to heat the vaporiser. Will make some sketches during the week of what it may look like, as for the weight it wouldn't be too bad

Hi everyone I recently had a moment of clarity whilst unloading my recently aquired DT out of the back of my lpg converted kia... stako currently make a 7 litre lpg tank which is roughly the same size as a topbox, and i have also aquired a second DT for parts, but now I'm thinking, could I convert a DT to lpg? How would a two-stroke engine react to the change? As ever, any input appreciated -foamy

So far i am only missing the carb, managed to find all the shafts I need, oil pump, filler cap, all the wires for the loom and some of the plugs, i would have it running by now if I wasn't stuck at Brize Norton -.-
  9. Weld it up? Failing that there's enough people breaking them on ebay

Screw it, have decided to rewire the bike according to my the diagram, will take the mag off and rewire it in the correct colours, have ordered everything I need for the wiring loom so the only thing s topping me from running it is the lack of a carb:/

Gonna need some help here now peeps, just been looking at wiring diagrams on the Internet and the two Dt50mx manuals I have found both indicate that there should be a light blue, a yellow/red, a black/white and a white cable coming from the magneto, however on my bike I can only account for the light blue wire, the other three are yellow, black and green/red... Anyone have any idea where to go from here? :s
  13. could I not bribe you with some sexy yamaha club lingerie?...

Rear mudguard is okay, it's been painted but that's not a huge problem, the inner has rusted/been cut off short of where the rear light mounting holes are but. I've already bought a set of mudguards and an inner off ebay I'm going to stop drinking until all my projects are finished and use the money saved to buy parts Update: ordered a sidestand, headlight brackets, kickstart lever, clocks, gear level and footpegs from a breaker on ebay, they weren't cheap but they were still the cheapest I could find... I'm pretty sure the price of spares has gone up since I got rid of my dt not going to bother with the rest of the panels, may aswell just wait for a dakar bodykit to come up for sale, havent managed to find a donor engine yet though Does anyone know if DT 125 kickstart and gear change shafts would fit?, there's enough spares for them about
  15. No can do, I haven't got any templates to upload as I'm away from my home terminal

Thanks for the kind words peeps, always makes me smile when i see it though, so far i have discovered the following: No wiring loom. Splines stripped on kickstart, gear change and output shaft Rear brake ceised No lights No oil pump No clocks No handlebar levers No little end bearing, piston rings or gudgeon pin No kickstart or gear change lever no sidestand (planning to add centrestand) Tyres bald and flat Tank rusted inside Side panels missing Air filter missing Control cables missing Aswell as some niffnaff bits, should be intersting though
  17. Hey everyone. As I am sure you are aware you can already order YOC the-shirts customised with your name and slogan, well brace yourselves... We can now order mugs, pens, post-it notes, memo-pads, hoodies, hats, mousemats, coasters and soon possibly lingerie. Enquire within, stick your BIC pens where the monkey sticks his peanuts and order yourself a YOC pen instead, you'd look badass rocking up to the office with a YOC pen wedged behind your ear, your female coworkers will be drooling with desire and your male coworkers will feel inferior as you take a windswept slow-motion walk up to your desk. Want to look like a badass biker in your car aswell? Why not order some yamaha club stickers and cover your back window with them? There were a load of hooded youths doing burnouts in the McDonalds car park last night with "stickerbombed " cars so it must be trendy!. All it takes is a pm peeps, send your postal address aswell so I can get a postage estimate

oh ive already started collecting parts , on the lookout for a donor engine to replace the knackered shafts, also need to get hold of a wiring diagram and make up a loom, have a bit of time to play with it whilst the XJ turbo engine is being repaired, im holding out for a dakar bodykit aswell, always wanted one of those

Well, i missed my DT... and after a few hours down the pub i decided to see if i could find it on ebay... long story short, i put a bid in and woke up this morning to find i had won the auction... oh dear, here we go again... its not even the same donkey!

+1 for the hand guards, just make sure you get a set that are braced with alluminium, i had a set on the DT that were purely made of ABS and the they shattered like glass the first time i dropped it, bought a set of alluminium braced handguards and they were brilliant, couple these with handlebar muffs (alright, they look about as trendy as condoms but they do their job) and its all good, alternatively Maplins do heated gloves which run off their own battery pack (9v rating, should be able to get a step-down fom your 12v bike electrics if you really need a longer run time) As for the bulb, the phillips high output series are quite good, if you have a halfords trade card they are even cheaper, failing that you may be better off sticking with what you have standard
  22. reminds me of a night out when i was stationed at RAF cosford, we all buggered off into wolverhampton, copious amounts of alcohol was consumed, then later on we decided to go to a strip club, several dances later we got kicked out after Mac was sick on Biscuits shoes, so it was time to go back to the barracks and upon entering the front door i was greeted with the sight of one of the other lads stood in the hallway with his trouser round his ankles balls-deep in a 'Henry' hoover... turns out he ran out of money before he got the strip club and decided to call it a night and "sort himself out"... nobody ever used that hoover after the story was told... needless to say he gained the nickname Henry for the next 18 months of his life, pretty sure the nickname carried to his new base when he was posted aswell And Sach, that wasnt exactly what i had in mind but 7/10 for effort
  23. Haha, Sash i swear you got a little more naughty every time we cross paths?, heck, we may be swapping dirty pictures by next week, hehe . *awkward turtle* in my current 'well oiled' state, i have had a brilliant idea, why dont we put a load of these things in the forests? ya know, for the pandas, or the occasional cottager

  25. ok cheers for the input peeps sounds good, can't see myself keeping the blade though, not as comfy as my XJ was, also the overheating was not on the road as its not T&T'd yet, this was just starting it and letting it run
