  1. What ever the speed of the bike and I don't excuse his speed or where he did it, the car driver caused the rider to die by his negligence to take proper observations at a junction. The speed simply made death or serious life changing injuries inevitable.
  2. Fingers between the chain and rear sprocket turn rear wheel through 180degrees they my need the odd plaster on their poor little pingies
  3. I know he was speeding and make no excuses for that. It was on long straight road driver facing the oncoming bike so even a that speed they should have had the time and distance to see him. Just another smidsy but much easier to blame the riders excess speed.
  4. I've got a 1987 FJ1200 1TX owned the bike for several years now. I've bought, sold, ridden, several different bikes in that time they have all been sold now but the FJ remains still doing what it does best getting from A to b and putting plenty of smiles on my face along the way. oh and when I'm in the mood embarrassing a few sports bikes and their riders along the way.
  5. Grouch I know I said mouse traps in your bag but that was tongue in cheek. What ever you do you are going to probably get branded racist if you try to expose him. Best bet no matter how much it gets to you don't let him know it there's an old saying what goes around comes around, be patient revenge is better served cold they all ways slip up.
  6. Put a couple of old fashioned mouse traps set of course in your bag, the ones you were taking to your dear old grans to get rid of mice in her shed. That should f**k his fingers up for a while, and who's he going to complain too without admitting he was in your property.
  7. I owned 1 a few years ago never had many problems with it snapped clutch cable and voltage regulator packed up just keep it well serviced. For a 600 single it pulled well & was fun to ride on twisty roads

    Gasket set?

I bought a cheap rocker cover gasket off ebay for my XJR1300. They are not difficult to replace just get a few skinned knuckles doing them, it disintegrated after being on the bike about 3months. Bought genuine one still oil tight after 2 years. Lesson learnt no more cheap gasket sets.
  9. It's a dewberry for connecting the thingy to the whatsit.
  10. dt502001 Hell I've not long mastered the art of switching a computer on don't have a clue how to send photos or videos. Give me a set of spanners and a knackered bike I will get it sorted, but computers leave me baffled there's no gears, con rods, crank, pistons, valves they just work/do things by magic it seems.
  11. Fuel exhaust have just made me a road legal end can to fit 2002 XT600e, to fit onto a laser Pro Doro system. The difference this has made to the to the performance of the bike is unbelievable pulls much cleaner appears to have more power and no longer feels like the engine is being strangled oh and it sounds like a 600 single should nice bark to it but not to loud. This is the second one off can Fuel have made for me all they need is the size of the inlet you require and they will make it to suit. Excellent service.
  12. I've been to the Somme, Ypres, Dunkirk, but the place even now makes the hairs still stand up on the back of my neck when I think of it is Hill 60, it was blown up by mines 3 times I think. There are still thousands of British, Canadian, and German soldiers still buried in that hill never to be found or given a proper funeral It's the weirdest place don't know whether it was just the day we went there but there were no birds or other animals in the woods and area of the fortifications on the hill.
  13. Don't be worried about riding it they are very forgiving they look big but it isn't noticeable once on the bike as I said before they are not crotch rockets they do move when asked but are gentle until ragged, there is not really any power band that comes in with a rush just steadily increases right through the rev range.
  14. Stalled a 500 single at a pedestrian crossing in the middle of newton abbot on market day trying to restart it quick didn't bother with the decompressor or gave it a big boot which it didn't appreciate and kicked back dumping me over the bars in a big heap in the middle of the pedestrian crossing.
  15. Try the A14 and the lane hogging HGV drivers, nearly became the filling in an artic and crash barrier sandwich last week and I was in my 4x4 was level with his back axles in outside lane he just pulled out had to stand the 4x4 on it's nose braking if I'd been on the bike I would not be posting this then had to follow the f+++++g t++++r for nearly 5miles before he got past the lorry he was overtaking. Most of the congestion on the A14 is caused by overtaking lorries and be extra careful if your overtaking a left hooker.
  16. I bought an 1987 FJ12001TX about 5 years ago it was the bike I never wanted till I rode it still got it had all sorts since but the FJ remains. The engines pretty bomb proof still used in the XJR1300 and more than capable of over 100.000miles and easy to service as for the rest of the bike just check what you would on any bike your buying. Performance wise when they were released they were yams top sports bike so it will still top 150mph and if pushed is quick to get there but it's biggest plus is the torque on real roads most over takes are comfortable in top gear from about 30mph. They are old school and performance handling and brakes are not the same as a new crotch rocket but a hell of a lot of bike for there money. Go for it or at least test ride it you will be pleasantly surprised.
  17. Guess it's all down to what your riding get lots of nods when on the XJR1300 but pretty much ignored on the XT600. Also seems to me that Harley and BMW riders have lost the use of their neck muscles or consider us some lower form of life.
  18. Thought I'd sneaked a XT600 in the other week, but she can sniff out bikes like a spaniel sniffs out drugs, cost me a new dinning room suit to keep the peace.
  19. This is a bikers site not a poets or debating society, personally I don't care what goes where so long as we help each other out. when we need it.
  20. Who ever cleaned your carbs didn't do it properly left some s**t in them.
  21. Nice bikes the urban Tiger is my favorite Blade.
  22. I run a fj1200 1tx im pretty sure all the FJ1200 models use the same coil packs. I also run an XJR1300 that appears to have the same coil pack as well. Hope that helps
  23. With half the comments you have said on this subject theres no wonder people say what they do about us me i just treat them with the contempt they deserve. I just think their loss is my gain and any way f**k them.
  24. Thats because we have politicians that need to grow a pair and look after the British born people instead of every other nations people.
  25. If you like classic bikes stick to one from the Japanese manufacturers at least they usually are reliable and as Upyours says capable in modern traffic and in the case of a 350LC properly ridden can still upset a few modern sports bike riders if your scratching on back lanes. I once owned a 1976 Triumph TR7 a basically Bonnie with a single carb biggest heap of c**p i have ever had the miss fortune to own spent more time nailing the thing back together than ridding it. Got rid of it after about 3months never again
